Listen: Childress, Seely break down baseball signing class

The Texas Aggie baseball team inked 13 players in the 2015-16 signing class, including 10 from the State of Texas (two from B/CS) and three from out of state. There are two left-handed pitchers, three right-handers, three guys who can catch, four infielders and two outfielders.

The class is generally regarded as a top 20 caliber class, but as many baseball fans know, baseball classes are primarily judged by how many signees make it to campus and avoid pro baseball.

I can tell you that A&M has two or three names that will have a chance to get selected high enough in the June Draft to consider passing up college ball in favor of signing a pro contract. But in talking with Aggie baseball coach Rob Childress and assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Justin Seely, they really feel the chances of getting all 13 signees to school is high.

If you asked me who the three biggest draft risks are in this class, I would say watch out of Round Rock outfielder Cameron Blake, Southlake shortstop Hudson Sanchez and Wylie East shortstop Braden Shewmake. But that is just my thought after looking into it and based on my interviews with the coaches. All of these guys love A&M and are committed to being Aggies and helping bring a championship to Texas A&M.

The class is listed below in its entirety. Click on the play buttons above to hear full-length breakdowns of the class from Childress and Seely.

A&M will have an outstanding pitching staff. Boomer White adds versatility to the offense.

Hudson Sanchez drops in at #24 on the top 100 high school prospects list. About a third of the list is comprised of SEC recruits.

What happened with that? I don't think it's much of a loss. Only had a .282 BA last season.
