"I think the range of our defenders, they have been able to get to more balls, they are taking a little bit more pride in their touches and both of our setters have improved with their movement to the ball. I think I would say our defense, and as a result the transition offense."
"When all of your starters or the players that play a lot can really celebrate with them and be supportive and proud of them, it's good for the team and the morale of the group."
Laurie Corbelli sizes up the Aggies after eight consecutive wins
Texas A&M Volleyball Coach Laurie Corbelli
On how the team is feeling after eight consecutive wins...
"Oh, they are really fired up. They are so much fun in practice because they see how well they are doing and they don't want it to end. All it takes is a little drop off in practice for the leaders to call a time out and say, 'Oh no, we aren't going there.' That makes it really easy for coaches to trust and to know the team is so bought in to the success and to winning. We are feeling really good, but humble as well."On the Aggies' biggest improvement this season...
"I would say our defense. You know the old saying, 'defense wins championships.' I think offense has a lot to do with it as well, but you can't really get your offense going unless your defense is pretty spectacular. Not only just going for the ball and making sure the ball stays alive, but the quality of that ball. It has got to get into an area where the setter can deliver within one second to the correct attacker."I think the range of our defenders, they have been able to get to more balls, they are taking a little bit more pride in their touches and both of our setters have improved with their movement to the ball. I think I would say our defense, and as a result the transition offense."
On 15 girls getting to play in the win against Georgia...
"Oh, it's awesome. The pure excitement they have when they are out there and the look on their faces, you know it's so different than practice. They realize it when they are out there and know that that is what they have trained for, and yet they know that their time out there is somewhat limited at the time but they only let it serve to fire them up and keep them motivated — and that is always a good feeling."When all of your starters or the players that play a lot can really celebrate with them and be supportive and proud of them, it's good for the team and the morale of the group."
