Closer Look: How Mississippi State matches up with Texas A&M

Mississippi State hopes to maintain the momentum from one of its best football seasons in school history.

The Bulldogs posted 10 victories for just the third time ever, climbed to No. 1 in the national polls and were in contention in the SEC West Division until falling to Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.

The return of star QB Dak Prescott ensures the Bulldogs will remain a team with which to be reckoned. However, a bevy of new starters must prove adequate replacements.

Prescott will operate behind an offensive line with three new starters, he’s without last year’s leading rusher, Josh Robinson, and there’s no guarantee a rebuilt defense will be as good as last year’s unit which ranked 23rd in the nation in points allowed.
