When Saturday began, Texas A&M's stability at quarterback was not-so-quietly one injury or transfer away from turning incredibly dire.
Hours later, those concerns were erased.
The Aggies made news with Blinn College QB Jake Hubenak's announcement that he selected A&M over runner-up Florida and would arrive on campus in June to begin summer classes:
Hubenak had been on an unofficial visit to Aggieland earlier in the day.
The 6-3, 190-pound Aggie legacy completed 65 percent of his passes for 4,052 yards with 47 touchdowns and only nine interceptions as a freshman at Blinn, leading the NJCAA in passing. He'll have three years to play three at A&M.
He'll also reunite with receiver Damion Ratley, whose own head-turning 2014 campaign catching passes from Hubenak at Blinn led to his being a member of A&M's 2015 class.
Hubenak joins former five-stars Kyle Allen (the top-rated pocket passer in the 2014 class) and Kyler Murray (the No. 1 dual-threat in 2015) to give the Aggies suddenly one of the best quarterback depth charts anywhere that isn't Columbus, Ohio.
