Big cushions are great for sofas and easy chairs.

They’re not so conducive to sound pass coverage.

Last football season Texas A&M’s cornerbacks routinely played so far off the line of scrimmage that opposing quarterbacks could throw short for easy gains.

When cornerbacks began converging to stop the short passes they became vulnerable to double moves that produced big plays. Consequently, A&M was ranked 80th in the nation in passing yards allowed.
