"It is hard for me to sit there and watch guys on 3rd and 1 on the goal line and guards are in a two-point stance. I know physics well enough to understand that power and leverage come from being down low, I don’t see how you do that to your lineman and expect them to get movement off the ball."

"When I was in school, we didn’t lose at Kyle Field. We may have lost two games my whole time there and before me they didn’t lose any games for four years. Until the wrecking crew comes back, we wont have that dominant home field advantage."

"I’ll never forget as a true freshman, going down to Baton Rouge, and seeing thousands of people giving us the number one sign and throwing cold beverages at the bus. It was such a cool experience even though they weren’t very nice and then coming out of there with a win was still fun."

"We had a bad season and wanted to recoup some pride by beating Texas and making a ball game. We were distraught and made a pact at that moment that this was not going to happen again, we were going to turn this program around in one year and we did it. After that, I felt like I could walk out with my head held high, knowing that my class had gotten the program back on track."

"I had to spend two years going through the training and work every position from a crew person to supervisor and learning how to run a restaurant (The McDonald's franchise he owns). I got some strange looks, especially right after I was done playing, people would pull through the drive thru and see me handing their food out to them and think, "Man he’s really fallen off."

"RC was most of the reason I wanted to go to A&M so bad because you wanted to play for a guy like that; you knew he was going to take care of you. As long as you did your part you were going to be in good hands."

"You can score points and be a finesse team but that wont work long term. You have to get more physical. I don’t care if you are playing true freshman or young players. That excuse only works for one year, you cant say you’re young every year, at some point you have to grow up. Hopefully this is the time that you do it because we have some talented young players."

"I remember I was walking into the facility in Indianapolis as a rookie and somebody had CNN on and I was in shock. I had been to bonfires my whole life; it was such a staple of the University. To see that and see how many people lost their lives, it was devastating. I remember living it day to day, for years honestly; it just never really left me. Their memory will live on forever."

It's good to get o-line insight from him. Why ARE the guards in a two-point stance when they need just a yard?
