"That (the naming of the quarterback) was a very tough decision. Both of them were playing at a very high level. I went back to my gut feeling and the maturity of him (Kenny Hill), and being around the system for a year. He sat around and watched Johnny for a year, and he's going to be put in some situations he's seen before and will hopefully get us out of those looks."

"It came down to who gave us the best chance to beat South Carolina. We wanted to get the announcement out now so he could have 12 days to get settled in place and get some good reps with the ones."

"Kenny can constantly keep getting better. He could work on his deep ball and stay in the pocket a bit longer."

"Kyle's preparing like he is going to be running with the ones. If there is subpar play or an injury occurs, Kyle Allen is the guy coming in."

"I think there are going to be a lot of people touching the ball and given the ability to make plays."

"There are a lot of weapons at the running back position. You're going to see Brandon Williams get his touches for sure."

"Josh (Reynolds) has had a great spring and fall. He's secured that Z position and, going into South Carolina, he's starting. He's definitely been a guy that QBs are leaning towards at times. He does everything right."

"Speedy's looking to start and be out there. He's doing good. Our quarterbacks are doing a good job of getting him the right plays and right routes and certain looks that make it easier for him."

"A majority of positions are locked in. We are still repping some kids at the guard spot and on the perimeter."

Mark Snyder

"It's good to see this youth and depth out there. We can keep guys fresh and we have more things we can do."

"Armani Watts is a guy who has good range and is a good tackler. When you play in the middle of the field, that's what you need. Watts needs to keep doing what he's doing and he will start next week."

"We're getting population to the ball, and that creates turnovers. That's when keeping guys fresh comes into play."

"The key to this first game is going to be tackling. We have to tackle."

"We throw a lot of stuff at our offense at practice. Kenny understands that and has done a great job of being able to change the play to the right play in every situation."

"I've seen great progression from the MIKE linebackers. The more they play, the more comfortable they will get."

"Ivan (Robinson) has a big body and will help us. It makes you sleep well at night knowing you have that."

"We will be releasing the depth chart on Wednesday."

"Alonzo (Williams) has been carrying the weight very well. He looks a little bit like Ivan. So far so good."
