• Taylor Bertolet never letting Duke return a kick was a great thing as well. Schematically we're doing things well but we can improve in the return game. We're a solid unit that can get better.
• Today was Trey Williams' first day back. Obviously we have confidence in him doing punts and kicks. Quiv has the talent do that as well. Speedy has shown he wants to do it. James White has been back there as an off-returner, as well as Tra Carson. The idea is to possess the ball first and we'll move on from there.
• We'll see with using Speedy as a kick returner, punt returner and receiver. As long as he continues to progress, we'll put him out there.
• We have guys, including kickers, work with personal trainers. Quarterbacks are a little different just like the kickers. I have no problem with Johnny working with George Whitfield.
• There's no problem with starters working on special teams. Those are critical plays in the game. You're going to play on special teams if you are the best guy to do that.
• I anticipate Johnny doing well tomorrow. Expecting the same thing that has happened over the past couple years.
• When we looked at our return game, we had some errors with hitting the holes and missing blocks. We took some days after Signing Day and studied NFL teams (Browns, Bears, Saints, Chiefs) and flew out and watched NFL coordinator's games. We get to show our kids that film, too. It really helps. We've tweaked some things in our blocking schemes to fit our personnel. We're progressing so much faster because they understand the concepts we are using.
• Speedy is going to make me a good coach. He's like a running back playing receiver. He's what you want as a returner. He's going to be a dynamic punt returner at some point in his career.
• Speedy, Quiv and Trey Williams give us some dynamic players back there, and we have solid backup options, too.
• Speedy has the ability to be a very good receiver, punt returner and kick returner.
• It's an honor to have a guy like Dante Hall out here coaching. He's taught me little things without me even asking. He's not only credible because of his NFL accomplishments, but as a teacher also.
• Ricky Seals-Jones is such a smart kid football-wise. Clear got hit right before spring break and we thought we were going to have to scrap everything. Ricky saw that and volunteered to do that in the case that Clear wouldn't be able to. It's an experimental thing as a backup to Cam. We may have fell into something good here.

• Cam Clear was used so much more after the change in offensive coordinator. You evaluate yourself thoroughly with that time in between the bowl game. We really noticed that we should get him the ball more because he is a weapon.
