Under the Lights: Scattershooting Texas A&M's recruiting efforts
Jason, Brauny and Hop spent the week following the fallout of Texas A&M Football's big recruiting weekend and the win over UCLA. Inside, you'll hear their thoughts on some of the Aggies' biggest targets and a few names to watch as the fall rolls on.
Sunday afternoon notes
A couple of national 2018 targets are making plans to be in Aggieland. The first is New Jersey QB Allan Walters. The 6-2, 200 pound signal caller from Paramus Catholic HS has offers from just about everyone around the country. He told me he's built a strong relationship with Noel Mazzone and will be in College Station August 9-11. He's also got some family friends with strong connections to A&M. We'll catch up with Walters after his visit, but it looks like the Ags increased recruiting presence in the northeast will continue in 2018. Speaking of the northeast, IMG DT Taron Vincent originally hails from Baltimore and is regarded by some as America's best defensive tackle in the 2018 class. A source near Vincent told me recently that both he and A&M are working on setting up a visit in the near future. Lastly, not a huge note but 2018 OL prospect Trace Oldner will be transferring from Katy to Richmond Foster. Oldner has camped at A&M recently.

Katy OL Trace Oldner holding Aggies in high regard following camp
As one among many visitors to Texas A&M's recent camp, 2018 Katy offensive lineman Trace Oldner is processing his first exposure to the Aggies' program and Jim Turner's coaching. The verdict in the early going? "Definite interest."
