Profile
Despite the fact that Jackson was one of the Ags' very early pledges, A&M had to fend off a furious rally by LSU to hang on to the imposing defensive line prospect. In addition to the Tigers making a late push, Nick Saban and Alabama plus Arkansas also brought the 6-4, 290-pounder in for January officials.
In Jackson, the Ags are getting a strong defensive lineman who will probably start out at end but is likely to eventually (maybe by his sophomore year) slide down to the nose guard position in A&M's 3-4 scheme. At 6-4 and over 290 pounds, Jackson is one of the Ags' most physically impressive signees. However, Brandon's coach told us that the A&M staff would like him to report at around 270 so that the Ags can build him back up into the 290-300 pound range with good weight put on under S&C Coach Dave Kennedy.
On the field, Jackson isn't yet the most disruptive player but he does a great job of shedding blockers and not yielding anything in terms of run support. He also shows some explosion out of his stance and flash off the edge when given the opportunity to play in a little bit of space and is a strong tackler.
In 2009, Brandon teamed with fellow defensive lineman Jermauria Rasco (one of the nation's most coveted juniors) to help lead Evangel to the Louisiana 2A State Championship. Jackson finished the season with 53 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and one safety, earning 2A Honorable Mention All-State honors. As a junior, Jackson registered 15 tackles for loss and six sacks.

What They Are Saying
"I always tease him that he's a big piece of meat, so he definitely looks the part. Fortunately he looks like Tarzan and plays like Tarzan. Some of these times you get guys that look like Tarzan and play like Jane, but he looks like Tarzan and plays like Tarzan. He had a great senior year, and can play on both sides of the ball. He's that big run stopper that you're looking for. He's been coached up by our defensive line coach, Coach Dawson. For six straight years he's put out at least one defensive lineman into Division I. Texas A&M is getting a great one there's not doubt about that." - Evangel Christian head coach John Bachman.
