TexAgs.com Announces Affiliation with ESPN
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - TexAgs.com announced Tuesday that they have become a member of TEAM Sports Network and will be the Texas A&M affiliate for ESPN.
TexAgs will remain independently owned and operated, but their affiliation with ESPN will allow them to broaden their base of Texas A&M sports coverage.
"We're very excited about the opportunity to team up with ESPN and we feel like this is a win-win for both sides," said Billy Liucci, columnist and co-owner of TexAgs.com. "ESPN will drive new users to TexAgs and we feel our unique, accurate, and timely coverage of Texas A&M sports will add a new layer to what ESPN can offer to college sports fans."
TexAgs.com and The Maroon & White Report officially merged in October of 2008. The joint company will now join TEAM's 21-member network and will be the official Aggie fan site for ESPN.com.
As part of the agreement, TexAgs will provide written and multimedia content for the Texas A&M team page at ESPN.com. In return, TexAgs will be able to syndicate ESPN content, including articles and video highlights, and will incorporate ESPN.com's national recruiting rankings and database.
Changes to TexAgs.com are ongoing in their effort to roll out ESPN programming on their site. TexAgs premium subscribers will have full access to the new features provided by ESPN in the coming weeks. Several ESPN features will be provided free to all TexAgs visitors.
"Our participation in TEAM Sports Network and our affiliation with ESPN will provide tangible value to our users," said Brandon Jones, co-owner of TexAgs.com. "Through shared content with ESPN and among the other TEAM sites, we will be able to increase the depth and scope of our subscription product."
"This cross-platform sharing of national and local content will enhance the online college football community experience," added Marc Horine, Vice President of Digital Partnerships & Sales Development for ESPN. "Combining recruiting coverage, features and message boards, the Network will cover all the action that is important to dedicated college football fans and their teams."
TexAgs.com is a website devoted to accurate and timely coverage of Aggie sports, with an emphasis on A&M Football, Basketball, Baseball, and recruiting. TexAgs is also among the largest fan sites in the nation, featuring an online community of more than 250,000 unique visitors per month.
