He has carried the ball 27 times scoring 6 TDs and converting 18 first downs. That means he converts 89% of the time.
The last time Jorvorskie was stopped on a 3rd or 4th down run was the much talked about 4th down against Army.
He has yet to be stopped in any of our six Big 12 games.
Here's a game-by-game breakdown:
Citadel: 1-for-2 with a first down and a fumble
ULaLa: 4-for-4 with two TDs and two first downs
Army: 4-for-6 with one TD and three first downs (he was stopped on a 3rd & 7, where he only picked up 6 yards, and on the 4th down where the block was missed)
LaTech: 2-for-2 with two first downs
texas tech: 4-for-4 with a TD and three first downs
Kansas: 1-for-1 with a first down
Mizzou: 3-for-3 with one TD and two first downs
OkSt: 1-for-1 with a first down
Baylor: 1-for-1 with a first down
OU: 3-for-3 with a TD and two first downs
EDIT: In the texas tech game he converted a 1st down and scored a TD on the same play, which I had not noted. I changed one of his 1st downs from that game to a TD.
Also, I wanted to point out that on his fumble in the Citadel game, he had picked up the 1st down prior to fumbling the ball.
I have taken a deeper look at his runs but with the formatting difficulties here I felt it would be easier to post it on my website. The Cliff Notes version is that he has picked up MORE yards than necessary on 16 of his 18 non-TD conversions.

Fran needs this in chart form. He can put it next to his "when to go for 2 chart" and his new "when to go for 7 chart"

So you are telling me that Dennis KNOWS Jorvorskie?

What kills me is that Fran loves to talk about how his staff looks at stats of everything to help them make their decisions but they overlook stats like this at the most important point in the game.

Uh, none of those teams where Lane got his numbers has nearly as good a defense as Oklahoma. Not even close. Apples and oranges. Converting against The Citadel, etc., is a lttle different than converting against OU.

Look at the chart again....he was 1-for-2 against The Citadel and 3-for-3 against OU.
He has become better as the season has progressed
OoC Games: 11-for-14 (79%)
Big 12 Games: 13-for-13 (100%)

Wow...I would have gone with those numbers even if I had never seen him play or known how big he is.
But I have seen him play and I know how dominating he is. So it would have been a no-brainer for me to give him the ball!!

This should be brought up at evry press conference and radio show until CDF either comprehends it or resigns.
JLane is automatic. If he really needs a ****ing chart for this, then he has no business coaching 3A highschool football.
Have faith, Jorvorskie. This loss is not your fault. The 12th Man is behind you!

Yay for the Fran plan.

That is an unbelievable stat. And when I say unbelievable stat, meaning I can't believe Fran did not use this stat in deciding what to do.

 Fran should resign.
The denfensive coach should be fired...safties playing 15 yds off the LOS. They score 14 points in 1st quarter...OU running back gains over a 100 yds in 1st quarter. What a joke...even Bob Davies couldn't believe it.
The play calling is a disgrace. Fire every one...from the AD down.

 NO, don't fire everyone.
The defense played lockdown in the last 3 quarters.
They people who need to go are: whoever is calling the offensive plays (presumably Fran); ST coach, and QB coach.
AD stays, everything but football is doing great with good hires; see Gillispie, the new tennis coach (back to back coach of the year), etc.

Honestly, if we'd given the ball to Lane twice on 3rd and 4th down from the 2 and he didn't get in, I'd be able to live with this loss. The fact that we have the best short yardage back in college football and we didn't use him when we needed to convert a short yardage situation to tie the game is just mind boggling.

he was also stopped inside the five against Baylor as well ...... I think a better stat would be to see how many times he's carried the football in a 3rd 4th or goal to go situation with 2 yards or less to go ...... of course those plays against OSU and BU might not have been 3rd or 4th down plays
