Oh, so that's why we mix in the WR screen all day while running the option 40 times a game. Now, I get it.

Um, not the way to approach it?
Basically called us out, saying, "Support us, or get out of the way."
Still didn't address why Lane was not even on the field for 3rd and 1. I can understand if Reggie checked to an option when nine were in the box, if Lane was on the field.
The fact that we were going to run C-Lew up the middle(implied by the check off) and not Lane, who was on the sidelines, on 3rd and 1 tells me everything I need to know.

Maybe it's just me, but this FWF had a different tone to it. This is the first one I have read that seemed like a p!$$ed off Fran was pounding on his keyboard writing it.
Previously, they had a certain "positive" quality about them, like he was still looking on the bright side of every game.
Hopefully this attitude translates to the team and they rise up and take out there anger on tceh tomorrow.

I'm rather surprised at the huge amount of defiance in that article. He's basically telling the fans to "screw off and shut up". Earlier this week he said he understood why people were upset. Dont tell me to shut up when I have a reason to complain. I'm not happy about that article, and I'm actually madder now that I read it than I was before.

I posed this question on another thread, but does anyone know if Fran really writes these, or if Mike McKenzie does it for him? I'd imagine if the latter is the case, Fran at least reads them before they're posted.

I think he is angry because he just found out his buyout is not as big as the internet contract wonks have been saying.
Do you know how many Little Debbies $2 million a year buys?
It will be a hard habit to cut down on.

Fran obviously doesn't know the first rule about QB Club...Don't talk about QB Club.
Since it doesn't deal with game strategy, I'll let you in on a little other nugget that Fran brought up during the QB Club meeting. He talked about the indoor facility gaining approval on campus and now it moves further up the ladder, hopefully w/ final approval coming in the summer of '06. What he said that really bothered me was that they were still a few million short of reaching the $20 million dollars needed to build the facility and that if anyone in the room had $500,000 or million dollars laying around it would help and is needed.
I really wanted to ask him how many more facilities and pay raises the alumni and fans are going to have to finance before there is some kind of return on our investment. I guess until we put our foot down on things like this, nothing will change.
Coach Koenning finished his speech by stating the internet was equivolent to bathroom stall wall. It's basically were everyone goes to write things that mean nothing and serve no purpose. To this comment one great Ag in attendance mummbled...Here I sit broken hearted, Ags suck and only f@rted.

Holy ****! We are paying this guy to coach us to less than mediocrity?! In the words of Carl Torbush, "Wow".
We don't need to pay someone 2 million a year to win games that we could have won on talent alone. To echo y'alls sentiments, win us some games, earn your paycheck, and we will shut up.

If they think the internet is that meaningless, they need to consider that byrne and gates have to take a **** in that bathroom stall, and they don't want to read about our program blowing hardcore.
In the grand scheme, it won't directly affect his job. But the negative attitude on here spreads to the media like plague. Which then starts to rub the people who matter. They need to get a clue.

Yep, I thought the tone of FWF was in really poor taste. Basically saying "screw all the fans, we don't care what you think." Not the way to build support when you are 5-3, likely to be 5-6 by T+1 and most likely sitting at home after that. Don't think getting pissed off at the people that help pay your $2 million salary is going to help the situation.
Amazing.

They've got to be feeling the heat. The media seems to have done a complete 180 on Franchione in the past few weeks.
So now not only does he have crappy Internet fans that suck calling for his head, but the national media is noticing that he's not perfect as well (far from it)
Must really chap his hide.

You beat Iowa State...at home...in front of your 5th largest crowd ever...and Fran won't have to worry about what is said on this board, in the papers, from the former students, by the donors, and by the recruits. This seems like an extremely simple task, yet this coaching staff failed. Accept some freaking responsibility.

Fran doesn't seem happy in Aggieland...If he wants to coach at a school that doesn't care about football fine...But he receives a large paycheck from Aggies to win football games, and if he can't do that then he needs to expect to be criticized, not cry (OU 2003)...If he had stayed at bama and did this they would have reacted the same way...At big time schools where you get big time money, you have to produce to get praise...He's lucky he doesn't have a real job, because he'd be unemployed already if that were the case...
