Seeing as how tomorrow is the first day of college for quite a few students, I thought it might be helpful to start a checklist...


1.) Dress up (especially you girls).
2.) Have your laptop ready 20 min before class to take notes.
3.) Nag the prof so he'll keep your tape recorder on the lecture stand.

Also, a small % of professors, the a-holes, take attendance so the first day is almost always a free day if you want to skip it. You can always get the syllabus later. Most of your other fish level classes don't need to be attended until test day. You'll thank me later.

You don't have to ride the bus to every class. Its usually faster to walk unless you're going to west campus or something.

For those saying to dress up, I can only hope you are joking. Very few people actually dress up for class anymore. Although, I do agree that all ladies should dress up for class. Us guys need something to look at when we decide to go to class.

2. Hike your backpack all the way up onto your neck.

3. Always look like you are in a hurry.. walking at least twice as fast as the nearest upper classman.

Remember to ask a bunch of meaningless questions when the prof is ready to let you go 15 minutes into class. That way the prof will know that you care about the class

When your prof tells you that you have a walk the next class, remember that means he wants you to get your exercise and the class will be held on the move.

if you're in the middle of an article in the Batt be sure you hold it up infront of your face and dont worry about putting it down once the prof starts talking, he/she will understand

If your phone rings, answer it, and just tell the person you'll have to call them back

Tonight, find out what classes your rommate is taking.

Tomorrow, add/drop to get the same classes, but at different times.

Borrow your roommates books whenever you need them. He/she isn't going to use them anyway.

I had to add a 101, 1 hr class to my schedule to keep a scholarship so that should be interesting. Other than the prof I'll be the oldest one in there.

Wear your backpack hanging in front with both straps. Double strapped on the back means you are gay, and single strappin' means you are bi. Don't be alarmed by the large number of gay and bi... just remember... double strap in front if you are straight.

I was in the Chicken one night, and some kid was stupid enough to walk in with the coller popped on his pastel blue Hollister polo. It weren't long before he was on the retreat.

Also, from my experience the past week or so, I think that the Northgate eating establishments need to offer a senior citizen discount to people of drinking age.
