Everyone says bama will run the ball down the Aggies throats Saturday. My guess is that Snyder and Sumlin know this and will hopefully design a scheme to stop it from happening.

I'm no expert, but what I hope our defense does is attack the run game and put the ball in mccarron's hands. I would do this with lots of blitzes and maybe some 5-man fronts. Our strength is our corners. Pressure mccarron and sell out to stop the run.

Will this create more big plays for bama's offense? Yes, but also possibly some big plays for our defense. Either way, we need to not allow long, time-consuming drives, and make mccarron try to beat us with his arm. I dont think he can. If he has to throw it 40 times, he will throw some picks.

I think we know this, Saban knows we know this, Therefore Saban will come up with something we don't know and try that. Not just run defense, sell out to stop the run. Speed up the game. Make it a shootout. If they hit some 60-yard runs, so be it. It puts their defense back on the field to get exhausted against our hurry-up.

Didn't watch the game, but whatever Va Tech did must have worked pretty well - they only scored 2 offensive TD's. Their other 3 scores came on special teams or defense.

They should tell those linebacker guys to tackle the runners when they try to run.

Gazelle, nice post. I guess you'd rather see 16-play 10-minute drives with their defense chilling out on the sidelines and our offense getting frustrated waiting to get the ball.

Pressure the run game, pressure mccarron into some bad throws. Give up some big plays, make some big plays. Wear their defense out. Seems logical to me, but the zoo isn't about logic or football discussion anymore. Sad.

Why are yall on this guy for his post? I would make Bama beat me throwing the ball. If they grind it out, our offense stays on the sideline. I would rather take the chance of getting burned than to have Bama give me a slow death pounding the ball, keeping our Offense off the field and wearing down our D. The guy is talking football and some of yall hammer him.

one thing that will help the Ags' run defense...Bama does not run the quarterback (like Rice and Sam did). Key on the tailback, but try to be ready for the long play action passes

Since Mack Brown says nobody in America can tackle anymore, I'd suggest we just tackle them. That should take care of it!

Its not rocket science. Only show 1 safety deep, it will invite the pass.

If I were Bama, I would get in a lot of 3 Wide and a Tight or 4 WR sets. That would force us to either bring the safety up and create a mismatch.

I still bring the safety up and roll the dice on 1st down.

W, great point. And that frees up an extra defender that doesn't have to key on the qb keep. I really think we're going to try to put more pressure on mccarron than he's ever seen, and see how he handles it. Maybe get some good hits on him in the process and force him into some bad throws.

That's my hope anyway.
