--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've seen 'em lose, I've seen 'em win, but I've never seen 'em quit...
imho, without proof positive, today's NCAA doesn't have the clout to compel anything drastic. they will want to stall. to save face, they recommend he sit for a game to give them more time. when A&M says there's no reason to sit him, NCAA can claim their recommendation was not heeded, and that shifts the scrutiny away from them for anything happening down the road.
I don't recall ever seeing a situation where the day before, the NCAA says we are going to make a recommendation tomorrow about the eligibility of a player. I don't buy that there is even going to be a public announcement.
Billy Liucci @billyliucci 11m Hearing that NCAA is doing all it can to inform A&M of its 'recommendation' ASAP...Aggie coaches are in an incredibly tough spot w/game prep
This is SOP for the NCAA: Do nothing which is in itself the penalty. Wait until the worst possible time to investigate and to make "decisions". They are just a tool for the HAVE'S against the WANNABES.
I think anyone who expects the ncaa to roll over is kidding themselves. We are watching an organization that is desperate to maintain relevance and will do everything they can to remind college sports that they are in charge.
Prepare yourselves for the worst, anything else comes as a pleasant surprise.
