I went to Alabama autograph day last Sunday. I have autographs from all of their projected starters and many of their coaches. I also have on video me telling several of the players that I planned to sell the autographs on eBay. Most of them laughed but no one refused to sign because of my statement ahead of them signing for me. As such, they had warning that I was doing this before they signed and they still willingly signed.

If some are trying to move the goal line on the JFF story to include a ludicrous new interpretation, I will release the video the week before Bama comes to College Station. I would expect the same treatment by the NCAA of the 22 starters from Bama that they give JFF.

Does anyone really expect the rule to be re-interpreted to the new way where this would matter? I don't but it is nice to have this in your pocket.

I assume that the autographed item that I have are now my property because nothing was signed restricting my rights.

Additionally, the Univ of Alabama was complicit in this as they handed out posters sponsored by a local bank to get signed. You can already find some of these posters for sell on eBay in addition to other items including footballs, helmets, and mini-helmets signed that day.

What the OP is referring to doesn't have to do with payment. There is an NCAA rule stating that it is equally wrong to sign if you KNOW your autographs are going to be sold. That's the angle of the case the OP is referring to. Not if JFF got paid to sign but did he know while he was signing that they were going to be making the man a profit...yeah.

Why wait until a week before the Bama game?

There were more than one of us there but I was the only one with the camera that is why all of them aren't on film.
