So only had cable my whole life... Do you need separate everything for each room, how does it work now? Or is it a central feed and you can watch whatever in every room?

Does DirecTV carry the LHN or does it ever plan to?

I'm past month 25 and pay about $120. They really don't help existing customers other than the occasional movie.
Bit we just got Fios in the neighborhood, so if a good offer comes around I'll switch.

PM me for info if anyone does sign up...we can each get a discount for my referral.

IMO DirecTV is the strongest TV option in B/CS, we have never had an issue with them in over a year of service now, and they are very reliable.

I'm assuming those rates don't include the $15 a month for the receiver service or taxes.

What is the total bill for months 1-12 and 13-24 with all the fees and taxes?

just an fyi, I called and told them that dish was offering a free ipad, so I wanted to know what they would offer me when my 2 year agreement was up. Here's what I got:

$15 off for 15 months
$10 off for 12 months
showtime & starz for 3 months
$5 off for 3 months
$3 off for 3 months and......
NFL Sunday Ticket for 2013 Free.

I did sign a 1 year agreement to get the ticket, but not a bad deal. You may want to call and talk to them.

What about a longtime Directv subscriber that has bought countless pieces of equipment, etc? Asking for my dad as I know they spend a tremendous amount on it bit just don't seem to get the service/upgraded equipment new subscribers achieve.

Man it drives me insane these companies don't treat existing customers like new customers.

All of em...sign your pocketbook away for 2 years and you are stuck.

This would be great if i knew who was carrying the SEC network. I will wait to change until I find out which will carry SEC network. Whoever gets it before the football games start being broadcast will get my business.

SEC network doesn't start for a year so I could renew for a year to get some free stuff.

This is when you see who has the best deal for the next 12 or 24 months.

I wouldn't want to pick the wrong provider right now.

Whoever broadcasts the SEC network should reap the reward of new subscribers and whoever doesn't should pay the price of losing subscribers.

Those of you saying that Directv doesn't do anything for existing customers should call them and say exactly that. They will give you all of the specials they have going on at the moment for new subscribers and anything else reasonable to maintain your business. They'll at the very least get within a few bucks of anyone else's offer and they have a better product.

This. and don't be discouraged by the first person you talk to. Be polite and just say you have some concerns due to the other offers in your market.

The first person will offer you a pathetic discount ($5/mo off or something)...just ask to be switched to the 'cancellation' dept-This is who can help you.

I just got $40 per month knocked off my bill last month.

It's the same way that Time-Warner works. I hate them all. It's amazing how if you threaten to cancel, they can knock your bill by 30-50%.

Uverse has indicated that they are going to carry the SEC network. So, if you are with Uverse right now, I would stick there until you knew for sure who else would be carrying it. Further, after this year, it sounds like the NFL Sunday Ticket will not be exclusive to Direct TV customers.

I am sticking with comcast in Denver, which I have had for about 24 of the past 26 years. Service is good, picture is good, internet is fast. My subscription gets everything for cable, plus high speed internet (40-50 mbps) and two phone lines. Cost is around $150.00 a month.

Will comcast in Denver carry the SEC network? I don't know yet, but I have already requested it from them.

If they don't carry to SEC network, I would look at Dish or Direct even if it costs more money.
