Not much to analyze from the A&M women's basketball game tonight and Gary vs. Vic part one as members of the SEC. This thing was over before it started and the Aggies coasted to a 48-point win over Mississippi State on the road. And it could have been much, much worse.

A&M emptied out its bench, playing 13 players during the ugly victory. The Ags shot 60.4 percent and held the Bulldogs to a meager 26.7 percent from the field. MSU committed 23 turnovers and A&M came up with 17 steals in the contest.

The Aggies got it done once again without a tremendous night from Kelsey Bone. The junior All-American candidate managed 13 points and just one rebound, though she did dish out five assists in 29 minutes. Kristi Bellock, however, was tremendous. She led A&M in scoring with 18 and also pulled down six boards. Adrienne Pratcher was the only other Aggie in double figures with 15. She also had three assists and three steals. In 19 minutes, freshman Jordan Jones goes for six points, three rebounds, five assists (two turnovers) and two steals.

Again ... not a ton to analyze. Just a flatout, old school beatdown by a group of players that is extremely well-coached and getting better and better by the minute. In fact, I'm not so sure that Texas A&M isn't one of the 10-12 best teams in the country. If not right now, it looks like the Aggies are on their way to that point as the season continues to unfold. And I can guarantee you that no team in the nation wants to see Texas A&M in March.

Missouri Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Reed Arena. See you there!

I go to grad school at Mississippi State and totally forgot this game tonight. The local stations here talked more about how the two coaching staffs were tight than about how bad State played.

Sure beats the days in Coach Blair's early years when our teams would go 6-12 min. without a score! This team is averaging over 47% on fg ytd!
Part of it is understanding the plays and where the shots will come from against all these zone defenses, and the number of assists per made fg...they are very high!

Anybody see the game and willing to comment on Williams...18 min and only 2 points is low for her...I know we played a lot of people...which is great and Bellock and Pratch had the open shots...Walker got hers and Bone ended with 13....just wondering since I listened to game with Mike Wright and did not see how it unfolded for Williams.

It's hard to believe after the first 3 games of the season, but this might be Blair's best offense he has ever had at A&M. Almost every player can shoot the ball and we are very talented. The defense is pretty good too, so everything really does come down to limiting turnovers and missed layups. If we continue to improve in those areas, this team could be very dangerous in the NCAA tourney.

Kristi, Courtney and Courtney are great with the mid range jumper. It will be a really bad day if they all go cold. I am also impressed with Kelsey's ability to run the floor this year.

agree...but a better FT % needed to win close games...UT is at 74% as a team, and we are at 68%...that can be the difference....but agree that turnovers is the big stat for us!
