The B1G started the demise of the B12 when they took Nebraska

The B1G may have started the demise of the ACC when they took Maryland

If this is a chess game between Slive and Delany perhaps this is the end game :

SEC adds North Carolina in the east
SEC adds Oklahoma in the west

SEC moves Alabama and Auburn to the east
SEC moves Vanderbilt and Missouri to the west

+ protects Alabama vs Tennessee
+ protects Auburn vs Georgia
+ puts history between A&M + LSU and replaces MU vs KU with MU vs VU and creates OU vs UAF
+ adds RRR to UF vs FSU / UGA vs GT / USC vs CU / UK vs UL
+ puts tu and ND in a 4th conference they can control and ruin together (a collection of lesser B12 and ACC schools)

OU goes nowhere without OSU.

North Carolina would be great along with V-Tech. New TV sets and not a threat to us for recruiting. Just move Missouri to the West and both of those in the East.

It's a battle for TV sets and population centers. OK adds nothing. Look for UNC or Va. Tech.

Look at this map and notice the white spaces next to the Hogs and Cocks

North Carolina is #1 in NC (#10 in population) and top basketball brand
Oklahoma is #1 in OK (#28 in population) and top football brand

They'll take VA Tech over NC in a heartbeat. This is who shall be their next prime target. You can book it.

None of the Big XII schools are going anywhere for the duration of their grant of rights. If they drafted it the way I think they did, and actually assigned those rights to the TV partners, even dissolution of the conference wouldn't get them off the hook.

My top choices are UNC and VT but that may not happen

My thinking is UNC and UVA has a good probability

My suggestion of the UNC + OU option is based on folks thinking Kansas may be headed to the B1G along with Virginia

Ok now you're making a little more sense, but still no OU without OSU and we don't want the recruiting threat.

KM, again, has no clue. OU was the original choice to be our partner but they can't/wouldn't go. Rabbling about not wanting to cheat and they just couldn't separate from ok st. Still couldnt when they tried to go PAC.

Virginia tech and North Carolina state unless UNC decides to pull the plug are going to the SEC. OU would have been cool but that just won't happen now.

It seems to me that we might be seeing a trend that super big conferences don't last. I'm all for stability at 14.

Where is the "KU to the BIG" talk coming from? I've heard a couple of times over the last few days.

I think this whole can't go without (insert name here) may be overblown :

Iowa State is never getting a B1G invite
A&M has shown that in state schools can part ways

View it as how schools land more than they are tied together

B1G adds Virginia and Kansas to get to 12
SEC adds North Carolina and Oklahoma to get to 12

(If someone can do a picture of this please do as it really creates a visual of the B1G and SEC when viewed in east to west visuals)

This leaves the remaining schools to form a 4th conference with 8 schools in the east and 8 in the west

East - an arms length from tu
Notre Dame - becomes the tu of the east
Duke - a basketball version of Notre Dame
Virginia Tech - no longer paired with OU but still in a Big 4 conference
NC State - no longer paired with UNC but still in a Big 4 conference
Pittsburgh - paired back with WVU
West Virginia - paired back with Pitt
Florida State
Clemson

West
Texas
Texas Tech
Baylor
TCU
OSU - no longer paired with OU but still in a Big 4 conference
KSU - no longer paired with KU but still in a Big 4 conference
ISU - no longer paired with KU but still in a Big 4 conference
UL - gets moved west and paired with ISU who both favor basketball

That is the point, we are farther from 2010 and OU now knows they can not get in the SEC or PAC with their little brother. If you have only 3 life rafts in the B1G, PAC, and SEC and the ship is sinking it may change your view. Both Kansas and Oklahoma have to look at Iowa as getting out (they were originally a Big 8 school) when the getting was good. I think the rejection by Scott of OSU has had time to ferment and this may be what is driving the KU to the B1G rumors that are floating around.

OU can't leave tu either... Without the game in Dallas they lose their Texas pipeline

Just so the blame/credit is assigned correctly, the B1G did not do a thing to the Big12. It was Texas' decisions to strong arm the conference that forced Nebraska out. That led to Colorado leaving. Texas then again made decisions to force out A&M, which led to Missouri leaving. Since the conference could not survive with 8 schools, that led to the Big12 raid on the Big East with TCU and West Virginia.

It's all TV money so most of y'all's scenarios are just dreaming. slive isn't going to add teams unless they signifigantly improve revenue. VT, NC maybe or stand pat & rule the CFB Universe as they've been doing for years

Nothing stops it from being another OOC game like
Florida vs Florida State
South Carolina vs Clemson
Georgia vs Georgia Tech
Kentucky vs Louisville

While everybody talks about OU losing their TX recruiting nobody talks about tu losing their only game people tune in to watch across the country. tu may have money and TX but OU has the richer football history. Without OU who would tu have as a rival game? A&M and Arky are already in the SEC and all the other brands have a rival game in place.

Bevo really is a castrated cow when you think about it.

Have you heard or read something that has compelled you to write this senario, especially the part of OU going to the SEC, or are you just imagining this senario? Not so long ago you were posting a senario that had UNC and either Virginia or Va Tech as the next SEC teams ... or UNC and Duke as a pair going SEC.
Just wondering if there is something that you have read or heard or if you are musing?
