We have been mediocre for years but the only time we were ever overrated in recent memory was the beginning of last year.

What a pitiful display of land thief logic. Makes very little sense.
I would be mad but it was ou writing it not some intelligent group.
Remind them that our coach was on the winning side of both the Reggie McNeil breakout victory over then top ranked ou and the Fran game that was a little one sided.

For someone to be overrated doesn't there need to be a belief that they are better that they actually are. I'm pretty sure that most press about us is not very good, therefore negating any claim that we are overrated.

The difference between OU and TAMU is that TAMU didnt need Texas' permission to determine its own future.
OU would be crippled without the Texas game. TAMU walked out. OU only wished they could do that.
Too bad OU is Daddy Longwhorn's little b-itch.

of the ten teams listed as most overrated:
3 are among the top 10 winningest programs in the history of College Football (and 2 of those 3 are ahead of Oklahoma on that list)
If you expand that list to the top 20 all time programs, you get 3 more of their allegedly "overrated" programs.
You want to talk recent history, fine it's not like we don't know that A&M has been bad for the last decade or so.
But when you want to talk about the quality of overall programs, history matters. And including 6 of the top 20 all time programs in your "overrated programs" list reeks of uninformed homerism.

OU was no prize for about 20 years prior to Stoops - lots of 5-win seasons that they'd like to forget about
UF was pretty irrelevant until Spurrier (literally I think they had less than 8 nine-win-or-better seasons before he showed up)

Bit of an exaggeration here. Stoops started at OU in 1999.
They won the National Championship in 1985---hard to ignore that one.
They've peppered some 10+ win seasons as well from 1979 until 1987. They weren't mediocre until after that.
