good luck to those of you who can just write them off completely, I won't and look forward to the rivalry being picked up again in football. I will miss it. Hate them? Sure, always have, but will still pay attention to what they do, ridicule them when they lose and laugh as we go to the SEC.

The Lone Star Showdown, in my humble opinion, is and has always been a joke. Bragging rights are tied to football, basketball, and maybe baseball. I don't think that many people in Texas care about the rest.

I'll also say that it feels good to say, "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out." The truth, however, is that the rivalry--or at least jawing back and forth about who's team or program is better, how, and why--will almost certainly continue. And the further truth is that I, for one, think it is a crime that the football game will not.

I'll agree with this. It isn't coming back, but that's best for both schools.

Why do Aggie or Longhorn fans even bother to throw out the word obsessed? There have been many multipage threads here and on other Aggie boards regarding Texas, just like there have been multipage threads about Aggies on Texas' boards.

And with the SEC thing, Texas could get in anytime they want. The only reason A&M is in the SEC is because Texas didn't go. You really think Silve would rather have A&M than Texas? Get outta here with that.

I find it funny that you'd say that, something usually attributed to someone who quits. In this case, we're talking about a situation analogous to a sinking ship, where everyone who had a life boat available got in it. The ones who didn't...and all TRIED-which includes Texas-are trying to act like they're just fine sitting on the deck together while the water pours in. They look absurd doing that.

You realize how ****ing stupid that looks, don't you? We are in a much better situation than you now. You know it too, and that's why you tried to leave as well. But the decision to start your own network has made doing so nearly impossible for you to do that now. If it weren't for the LHN, you would be in the 16 team PAC right now along with OU, OSU and Texas Tech. I know you realize this.
