Was it for 7 on 7 tournaments with teams not formed based upon your school? They made a distinction in the past. If that is not the case, there absolutely needs to be a push to get anything high school off of college campuses. It can not be selective or is discriminatory.

We wouldn't have been allowed to do it anyway due to the fact that the SEC doesn't allow it on their campuses.

The sec does allow it on their schools campuses as long as it is high school teams and not all star teams like our recruits played on this summer.

cbunn is correct and he is speaking to the same difference that I noted above regarding the team being formed based upon your school. The tournament that A&M hosted is allowed under SEC rules.

Nothing says the City of College Station couldn't host something like this. It would help the local economy and the A&M coaches could surely arrange some recruiting visits while their in town. I don't know if COCS could pull something like this off, but I would think they would be foolish not to at least try to keep it in town.

The city doesn't have the facilities. The university does.

no 7on7, but tu can host the state championhships in basset ball for every classification (boys AND girls) EVERY YEAR

You couldn't find a D1 Pro Type QB in Tx before 7on7. Look around the country now. At the time most Tx HS coaches hated the idea. 3yards and a cloud of dust was a way of live back then. Boy have thing changed for the netterm

Yeah, if all 7on7 games are banned then all high school athletics events need to be banned from college campuses unless the team playing on the home team rents the facility for no less than the operational expense of said facility along with other financial disincentives that would prevent it from being financially possible.

I went to grade school in Norman and it was nice having the NHS v NHSN football game at Owen Field the one year it happened when I was in HS, along with the state finals for 6A and 5A basketball (which I surprisingly did not experience my 4 years in HS).

The guy is clueless. Hopefully, he does not get paid for writing for that site. 7 on 7 tournaments based on high schools were not banned in the SEC. That is the type of tourney that A&M hosts. It was fine under SEC rules. The only thing that was banned were the all-star type tournaments.
