I can't explain why it's not out on DVD yet, but the show is being replayed on HBO now and has been available on OnDemand. Not sure if that helps any.

How many years, storyline wise, can the show last? If ratings stay high, does it continue through Al Capone's reign in Chicago and the end of prohibition? Does it end with the end of Nucky's reign?

The show is a fictionalized account of Nucky and the era, but it will be interesting to see what the writers have in mind if the show lasts 5 seasons.

LonghornHere - Good question...I could see the writers either slowing down or speeding up the pace of the show based on the ratings from season 1 and how season 2 goes. I can't see them focusing on Capone in Chicago too much considering they have "boardwalk" in the title. Atlantic City seems to be inseparably tied to the show.

this question alone will be enough to keep me interested throughout the shows duration. It has as much potential as any show that has ever been made.

Started off with a bang.

Really good start to the season

Van Alden in the restaurant was awesome.

Okay, it's 1921, 4 months after the last episode of season 1. Solid 1st show for season 2.

Going to be a long season for Nucky. Who will be Nucky's allies in the end - - Jimmy after being burned by his so called new friends?

Did Jimmy's mom say she liked to kiss his wee-wee?

That she did. She and Jimmy have a strange relationship because she gave birth to him at 13, but that is definitely beyond strange.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one taken back by that line. Their f'ed up relationship was taken to a whole new level with the bit of knowledge!

Good first episode, looking forward to where it goes the rest of the way.

Between the kissing on the lips, that comment about kissing him while changing diapers and the uncomfortable moments in Season 1, I think it's pretty safe to assume that Jimmy and his mother's relationship crossed the line more than a few times during his childhood.

SexPanther - you have to watch, but without spoiling anything, Richard Harrow (the guy with half a face) is one of the best characters in the history of television.

Ok, for those in the know - it seems Van Alden is paying the sloot he knocked up to stay at the "males only" boarding house, out of sight, while she's pregs. Was he paying her off with the till from the restaurant he raided? What are they going to do once she has the baby? His spiral downward into the depths of sin is interesting.

Is it possible he concocts a story about finding it abandoned by some bad (alcohol driven) people, but the child needs a good home so he takes it to his wife and says it's their christian duty to provide and care for the child?

Good theory, stive. Your scenario is very plausible considering his wife has an expanded role and will be making monthly visits to AC. That sloot may not live long after child birth, if Van Alden decides she needs to baptized as well.
