Beat them so bad even poor ref'ing cannot effect the outcome.

Some of you are being irrational.

not irrational - very likely the Big 12 paid refs protect the conference

Maybe more motivation for the team?

I know some referees. Not any Big 12 ones, but I am quite confident that there will be no intentional effort to treat us differently. That would be completely against their ethical code, which the vast majority stick to quite stringently.

You guys need to own up to the fact that your just hedging your bets and creating a scapegoat for the future.

NU with an injured T-Martinez just was not that good

The horns (another team that was not that good ) won handily in Lincoln

so heddy, and everyone else... if you are going to say that they will and are going to try to screw us... you really then have to acknowledge that the only reason we beat Nebraska last year was for the same reason. You can't have it both ways.

I'm not willing to say the refs gave us the Nebraska game last year, and I'm not going to blame them this year. There will be bad calls, there always are. I just suggest we should resist attributing them to something sinister.

Not sure why I'm trying to make the argument here, I know its a losing effort.

In other words, you are admitting in this post that there is a minority that do NOT adhere to the ethical code. It only takes a couple to really affect a game.

10th year, not really... I just know that if I said all refs are ethical, someone will dig up a story that proves that sometimes they are not.

However, they work in teams. It really would take an entire team working together to intentionally blow an entire game in purpose, and I don't think that's very likely.

I think it is very, very rare that someone would intentionally blow a call. They are held accountable for their calls, and they want to advance their careers.

Louie just said he didn't think Nebraska got the 50/50 calls last year and he wouldn't be surprised if we don't get them this year. I don't expect the refs to manufacture calls against us but I doubt that we get much in the way of tolerance from the refs on debatable calls.
