People bash A&M wanting to join the SEC b/c we have been bad the last 10 yrs...

It is not important what anyone thinks other than A&M and the SEC. We know you can compete or these conversations would not even be happening.
They're going to be surprised when we go in there the first year and pull off a 7-5 or 8-4 or something like that, and more than hold our own.

We are gonna be a Florida of the west within 5 years. A&M will be bigger than ever. Visibility and finances will be booming.
Nobody blinked at CU or NU leaving even though neither of them will probably win their new conference (or come close) any time soon if ever.
This is about money and nothing else.

I fully expect us to win the SEC West 3 or 4 times in the first ten years. After that even more.
To improve, you have to play the best.

Yup. Unlike the vast majority of the professional commentator class, Slive and co. don't have the luxury of lazily basing their decisions on the past 10 years. They know that even powerhouse programs go through down periods, such as when they're being led by a Dave Shula (Alabama), John Blake (Oklahoma), Curley Hallman (LSU), John Mackovic (tu)...
I think our current program is leaps and bounds above where we have been the last 10 years. This isn't the years of RC or Fran, Sherman has us on the right path and I don't think it would take very long to get adjusted to the new schedule.
