I cannot believe that I am seeing an ad for the Longhorn Network at the bottom of my Texags pages. Are there no standards as to who you will sell advertising to???

Nope, no joke. I don't spend my life on Texags like I know a few folks do. This is first time I have been on in about a month. I take it from the comments that this has been going on for some time. Elighten me, did staff have any response for why they are allowing this?

The ads at the bottom are different for everyone and are basically generated by your Google search history. No joke.

Thanks for the answer. I don't think that could be right though. I have not been searching for gay porn sites, so I don't know why Google whould flash an ad for the LHN on my computer.

Thanks for a legitimate answer. I really did not know why this was on Texags and was shocked and disgusted. Guess I will go back to watching the stockmarket now. Seeing the Dow down 500 points turns my stomach less that seeing a burnt orange ad on my computer.

Well if we'd quit worrying about what's going to be on a channel that only a few people are carrying, then we wouldn't have to see these ads.

Though I could be wrong as I am no expert on the subject, my understanding is that your google search history is subject to an algorithm that generates advertising content generally related to those searches. So, if you have performed a number of college sports related google searches, you might get ads generally related to college football (such as TLN) even if you have not searchd for that particular material.

Well, I've NEVER searched the LHN and I see the ads now and then, so it doesn't seem to have much to do with my searches.

But, here's the point as I see it. If the ads give Texags some cash, let 'em run. After all, do you think that having those on this site will really have any effect on the readers here? Sure there's an isolated recruit here, too, but I would argue that some of the things said here will have a much greater effect on what they decide than a stupid teasip ad.

I think we should be discussing about our linebackers and keeping Tanny healthy instead (pick your favorite concerns). All this effort moaning and groaning about the LHN ads seems silly to me.
