Looks like they covered their 'greatest hits' pretty well. I was wondering about this when i hear 'Blow Me Away' on Sirius a couple weeks ago saying it was new music, considering it's from the Halo 2 soundtrack..

a best of? oh man come on.. that's kinda lame if you ask me.
A greatest hits album makes since. If you've been around long enough and have had 10-12 songs hit #1 or high up on charts, you can put em together. But a 'best of'? This is just a cash cow. Who are they to decide which songs are the best, w/o any kind of chart success to back it up? What only like 7 of those were even on the radio, much less successful on the radio...

I always admired metallica for never putting out a hits or best of cd.. they get it.

The real reason they're doing this is because of hollywood records. The band has no say in it actually.

And they're practically broken up. No word on if this concludes their 5 album deal with HR

Well they have 5 albums with this one now.. so I'd assume so.

Creed's greatest hits album thinks this is retarded.

62strat i realize this is album #5. however, there isn't actually any new material produced.

i think BB's contract with HR stipulates as such.

so this probably wouldn't count as #5.

I really like Breaking Benjamin, but things have REALLY gone hill since the first round of concerts --- I would kill to hear nothing but the first round concert DVD at every concert, with some smattering of new (Hollywood sndtrk junk).

Any concert by Breaking Benjamin without 'Phase' is a sellout -- and that is what I saw a couple of years ago.

you'd have to see their specific contract to know, but many times, a best of or live cd counts as a release towards a contract. So many bands end up one album short of their contract, but want to leave, so they throw out a compilation. Very likely their contract doesn't say 'x number of releases of all new material', it just says 'x number of release'

Should "previously unreleased" really go on a Best of or Greatest Hits collection?

Hey everyone, Benjamin here. I am officially letting everyone know that Breaking Benjamin has NOT broken up! This is just a false rumor that, through the miracle of modern technology, has unfortunately spread.

I am currently taking some time off from touring to further address some health issues that I have been dealing with for some years now which has been posted previously on the shallow bay website and expressed in many recent interviews.
