Yes to the stripes that run from the neck to the end of the sleeve like we wore in the 70's in the Emory Ballard era. No to the stripes that go around the bicep like a million other teams. The long stripes would be to our uniforms what a solid gold helmet is to Notre Dame's uniforms...it would set us apart. I think we quit using the long strips in the Tom Wilson era so we could have numbers on the arms. I vote for the long stripes. BB & MS, please do this. It would be cool if they could wear them in the Cotton Bowl. I keep hearing about "branding" and about tu having a great brand. This would bring back a great brand we never should have lost.

There is another thread posted recently called War in Texas: 1975. If you go to that thread you will see a video of the Aggies beating tu while wearing the long stripe jerseys. Really cool.
Does anybody know Bill or Mike's email address so we can make this suggestion. The more I think of it, I like the idea. Talking about "brands" we are known for traditions. The old long stripe jerseys are actually a carryover from the leather helmet and no face mask days. How more appropriate could they be?
I'm glad someone made an official thread for this. I have been sorting through all of the threads on this topic and just couldn't decide which one to post on.
I LOVED the jerseys with the stripes down the shoulders! When they lined up, you didn't know whether the Aggies would win, but you sure knew the other team would be spending some time in the whirlpool.
