if thr big 12 gets raided I'm curious to see where everyone ends up.

As a fan I want the SEC.

My brain says Pac10

B10 - TAMU/tu would be the red-headed step children. We would bring a ton of $$$ to the table (TV revenue from TX) but we would be the outsiders with no tradition or rivalries associated with the conference.

SEC - The amazing matchups are endless and TAMU/tu would fit in athletically. However, I see this conference as a bad idea. #1 they are academically inferior (speaking solely on rankings) #2 inviting the likes of L$U, Bama, Florida, etc... more exposure in the state of TX would be recruiting suicide. Plus for TAMU football, a team struggling to get back to greatness, the SEC would mean an immediate step backwards due to the increased levels of competition and lower academic standards.

PAC10 - There are challenges due to time zones and travel distances but I actually see this conference having the best potential. They are solid academically and good enough athletically to make a strong conference, yet not so good that TAMU/tu couldn't both come in a do quite well. The added advantage is that the PAC10, like many teams in the B12, are desperate to get in on the kind of TV $$$ that the B10 & SEC have gotten and are willing to do something drastic to make it work. Combining part of the B12 along with most (if not all) of the current PAC10 could build the first super conference that would work from a travel standpoint and could garner the TV ratings to justify a big deal.

Hasnt it been said on here a million times that Vandy, U of F, and UGA are all ranked higher than us?

I don't understand the whole academics argument. What exactly does that have to do with being in a conference.

Welcome back my friends
To the thread that never ends
We're so glad you could arrive
Step inside, step inside

Let's catch you up to date
On that con-fer-ence's fate
Are they going to expand
'Cross the land, 'cross the land

First of all you'll note
Big Ten schools would never vote
For a Tier-3 school like Tech
What a wreck, what a wreck

It's because the Big Ten schools
Are no academic fools
Members of the CIC
Don't you see, don't you see

Next of all you'll find
Pockets certainly aren't lined
By adding schools out in the sticks
Sorry, hicks... sorry, hicks

They want a lot of Joes
Watching Big Ten Network shows
Advertising revenue
What a coup, what a coup

Now you're up to date
So you can wildly speculate
On who will move to the Big Ten
Er... eleven, eleven

Come and see the show!

Entry in to the Big 10 means your university is part of http://www.cic.net/Home.aspx and that means a boost to the academic standing/ranking of your university on a national and global scale and it gets University bigwigs very excited.

I do kinda like the idea of the Big 10 but only if they expand in such a way as to create a divisional alignment where we are not always playing long distances away from Kyle when on the road. ie, by including teams closer to us in their expansion rather than teams like Pitt or Rutgers. With us and tu, teams like blOU, Nebraska, and Mizzou. Pair these with Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin to form one division.
