i'm surprised folks on 1960 even notice the buses with all the traffic on there all the time any way.

I would assume (I don't live there) they'd say that Metro turned a nice area into playground for hoodrats with a bus pass.

yeah, I blame Metro. no way the Mexicans would have ever figured out you can get good deals on decent houses in that neighborhood if not for Metro.

quote: Speaking of Phoenix - I'm up here on business right now and the light rail works really well here it seems. They took the Houston idea and made it actually go somewhere. You can go from Mesa all the way through Phoenix and on to the far west side. It also goes by the airport so it is cheap and easy to fly in and take the rail to downtown PHX.
Phoenix's 20 mile line has less ridership per day than Houston 7.5 mile line.

Houston Red Line cost = $325 million (opened 2004)
Phoenix METRO Light Rail cost = $1.4 billion (opened 2008)
Phoenix's system does sound just grand, but I guess you can get to the airport, tahts all thats important, I guess, if your just there for business trips and dont actually live there.
