For those of you using the firefox imacro, method: I found something that makes mine go WAY faster. Goto tools->options-> and UNCLICK "enable java script"

Also, I know it has been said but adding a 3rd refresh really cuts down on the errors for the continuos loop (see code below.)

The page should start loading twice as fast = more VPM's

***************************************************
INSTRUCTIONS Summary

Install this:
firefox: www.firefox.com

Install this:
imacro: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3863

Disable java script: In firefox -> Goto tools->options-> and UNCLICK "enable java script"

In iMacro -> "edit" tab -> "edit macro" -> REPLACE text with quote text below -> save/close -> goto "play" tab -> set "repeat macro max" to 99999 -> make sure your current tab is the vote page -> click "play loop" -> win.

macro:
quote:
VERSION BUILD=6060801 RECORDER=FX
TAB T=1

Vote:http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?page=helmetstexasamalabama&POLL351=50000000000000000000000006

EDIT: I'm a rookie so I can't post a reply, but in response to the poster who suggests also unclicking "load images": You can do this too, but it makes zero difference for me, and I like to see the poll results everytime

EDIT2: 9:56a WE JUST GAINED GROUND FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS MORNING!!!!!! KEEP IT UP AGS

EDIT3: We're gaining some serious ground now! Would someone with the ability to do so ttt this every once in a while.

EDIT 4: 11:11a - for those of you getting "line 6" errors, you might want to try inserting the line "WAIT SECONDS = 1" after the 3rd refresh. That is the only thing I can think of. I want to help people, but I can't. DAMN YOU ROOKIE STATUS!!! P.S. we are starting to dominate the poll.

EDIT 5: Well people. Looks like us iMacro people got the run started, and the advanced programs are finishing them off...

This.

is.

TEXAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea instead of taking anywhere from 4-6 seconds to refresh the page now it is only taking about 2-3 seconds. That should at least get a few more votes per minute.

You can also prevent loading of some images to lessen the page weight for faster loading.

Tools > Options > Content tab. Uncheck load images automatically
hit exceptions button

type in espn.go.com and hit allow
type in adsatt.espn.go.com and hit block
type in assets.espn.go.com and hit block

there's a couple others you can add if you want to, but that will lighten the load some.

Thanks, Wild Bill. That does work. Now I can run this version of the macro (except for 'Bama) and the BamaVoter.exe program.

You guys need to go crypto, you are giving away valuable information.

I can't believe you have posters here, in the "Aggie Programmers" thread, talking about being on the phone with ESPN.

We are all cheating, yet you guys seem to want to play dirty too. That is kind of classless.

hey ctrlaltdel or whatever. guess what's going to happen as a result of the calls to ESPN? in about 15 minutes they're going to change the values on the web pages so that any votes coming from your automated program will actually go to A&M. this rocks!!!!!

The Planter's Poll back in the day instituted one of those "Type The Letters You See Above" verifications to make sure it wasn't automated.

The Planter's Poll I thought had some money or something substantial tied to it for the winner which would make it need to be legitimate.

This poll is just for bragging rights...

The Planter's prize was 10k for the school with the "nuttiest fans" (which we won).

What was funny is we got A&M Corpus Christi in the top 5 just for the hell of it.
