ok, we're losing so i'll just post the info.
this only takes about three minutes and it will turn your pc into an automatic voting machine

download and install firefox and imacros plugin.

Go to the edit tab and edit any macro on the list.

It should open up a notepad, and what you should do is then delete those contents and copy and paste what I have below and then save and close notepad.

VERSION BUILD=6060801 RECORDER=FX
TAB T=1
CLEAR
REFRESH
REFRESH
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:RADIO FORM=ACTION:http://poll.espn.go.com/cgi/sz/poll.dll
ATTR=NAME:vote_0&&VALUE:225460
TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:SUBMIT FORM=ACTION:http://poll.espn.go.com/cgi/sz/poll.dll
ATTR=VALUE:Submit<SP>Vote

You have to be on the helmet vote page to start the macro. here's the url:

http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?page=helmetstexasamalabama&POLL351=40000000000000000000000000

When you run the macro, set the max number to 9999 or whatever, and play the loop.

when you say "looks like a real link" ... does that mean it should be in blue like a real link ?

also, make sure firefox is set to block pop ups, and you can only have on session of firefox running. if you need to do other stuff, like check texags, keep internet explorer open also.

lostboy, it should show up like a blue link instead of just black characters

if the runtime error says something like error 6, it's probably due to a pop up

Just a little sidenote....when I copy/pasted the code to the notepad, those links didn't ever turn blue and mine works fine.

Also, if you find that the macro runs fine for awhile then out of nowhere you get a random runtime error, try adding a third REFRESH just beneath the other two. It worked like a charm for me (however, it will make the macro run slightly slower).

Hmm that's weird...I was getting that EXACT same runtime error and all I did was turn off popups in firefox and it worked fine from there on out.

sorry, it actually doesn't show up in blue when pasted into the plug in. also, you have to be on the page for the helmet vote to start with

They even developed a program to help their voting. Below is the link where you can download the program to vote for Alabama.

Danggggg.....that program votes WAY WAY faster than the macro does. No wonder they're winning. Anyone know how to modify it so it votes for us?

stobie18, don't know that one. be sure that ALL of the old code is delete before you paste the new code. some of those things have big gaps with code way down where you can't see it.

be sure and save, and make sure you're on the espn page

well done on that program Bama... most of us are voting from work, so that counts us out from DL'ing the macro...

If we could take their code from EXE and change it to our output that is the key... Anyone?

where are the compsci majors to change that program to work for A&M?

TriumphForks

We need someone who is good with code to decompile that program that the bama people are using to vote, edit it to vote for a&m and recompile it so all of us can download it and use it. seriously, it votes about 3x faster than the macro does.

I tried to decompile it using a VB decompiler, but I don't think it was written in VB. The only languages I have any experience with are VB, Java, and C++ so I'll search for a decompiler for each of those and hopefully I'll be able to come up with something but don't count on it. I've never done anything like this before heh.

The difference in the code between us and them is this

Bama

VALUE:225459

TAMU

VALUE:225460

IF we can change that in the EXE that is all that matters.

Here's a link to that thread where the guy made their program. Some on there claim to be getting a vote per second. This destroys pretty much what my computer is getting...about a vote every 10 seconds. Someone NEEDS to figure out how to edit this program to vote for us or else we're done for.

TriumphForks

I have no idea how to modify this program (I can't decompile it). If anyone knows a compsci major/grad who would be willing to help us out, that would be awesome. Apparently the program that this guy wrote isn't very complex, and in theory if there is a way to go in and modify the code to make it vote for us, it shouldn't be hard to modify it.

If worse comes to worse and they end up winning, we could probably appeal to ESPN and send them a link to that thread and say hey look this program was released at around 2:30 AM and if you look at the sats, thats when Bama started to get all their votes etc. etc. I don't think they had voting bots in mind when they designed this contest. Plus if nothing else it'll make for some drama on their show since they will have reported bama winning but the final isn't until tuesday so on monday they could say bama cheated etc etc so actually A&M won that round. It's a longshot but who knows.

That program is going way faster than I can vote. My macro's not even working, and yes I have popups turned off.
