so I came home today to find my roommates dog in his kennel in the back yard coverd head to toe in his own feces and urine He had diarrhea this morning and rather than fix the problem my roommate just moved his dog outside and left him there. I he is now having diarrhea that is just clear fluid and has drank 4 quarts of water and is still thirsty. He is also bleeding from his rectum. I called animal control to document the neglect.(check previous threads I have posted on this for more info on the neglect from his owner). I now need to get him to a vet because his owner will nto be back till 11pm if at all. I would prefer one that is a little more affordable but if not I understand. thanks in advance

cliff notes: I need a dog vet now.

Take it to the vet school. Students get a discount.

if you're a student, get him to the small animal hospital at a&m, they offer discounts with your aggie card

most vets cost pretty much the same

AND GO GO GO!!

Poor thing, I hope your roommate realizes that the dog just needs to go to someone who will actually care for it.

Faculty, staff, and students get a 20% discount at the vet school. Now that might not be cheaper than a local vet. Dr. Bond at Southwood Valley Animal Hospital is great vet.

Dr. Bond, Southwood Valley. we take Murphy to him and he's great. he is also cheap, but that's not the main reason he's our vet.

Also, get documentation of any vet bills and ownership of the dog, that way you get reimbursed - if you care.

Still, that dog needs a different owner, and the vet asap.

Vets can't possibly be trained for head shots.

like I said before, this is not the first time stuff has happened. he doesn't feed the dog, he stays in travel kennel thats too small for 20 hours a day, he is underweight, his ribs and spine are showing. its a lot of things. Plus he could have cleaned out the kennel. this is the second day in a row he has left him in the kennel covered in feces

2818 and Southwood. take 2818 around, towards the Walmart. you will intersect with Wellborn, then Welsh, then Rio Grande, and your next light is Southwood. take a left then another left. it's in that strip center and has the vet symbol in front.
