Its not like we're calling you a "doodie face". We're calling you an "idiot".

The definition:

a person of subnormal intelligence

And yes, noone should tell you to off yourself.... but if you were to off yourself, be sure to aim for your head

This thread needs to end and go away.

T&P for the child and the members of his family that are not crazy...

also, T&P for the officer and his family in having to deal with the stress of what happened.

for the sake of compiling information...

His name is Ian. He went to high school in Arlington. He got suspended from A&M and is going a junior college. He tricked some girl into saying that she will marry him. He is currently building and armoire for the dumb hoe. His sister works for the police force.

You don't know the officer in question. You don't know what kind of shot he is. You don't know the position of the perp's body. You don't know all of the circumstances. You don't have a 360 degree recreation of what happened and neither do we.

I don't know any of these things either so I'll tell you why I would try to shoot him in the head.

A. The guy is stomping on the 2 year old and must be stopped. Physical attempts have failed and I am authorized to use deadly force.
B. I decide I am going to stop him and only have a handgun available to me and don't want to go back to the unit to get a shotgun or patrol rifle (see point A.)
C. I want to end it as quickly as possible (see point A.)
D. I know at the range I am from the perp and how accurate I am with my weapon so I can take a HIGH PROBABILITY HEAD SHOT.
E. I know that the area behind the perp is clear in case I get a through and through shot.
F. I know that a head shot has a HIGHER PROBABILITY of a one shot stop than a shot to the chest. (refer to point C.)

I take the head shot and end the situation.

I don't know how much formal training you have had with any firearms and I don't know if you have ever shot a handgun or your practice schedule.

I do know my own limitations based on whichever weapon I have in my hand (i.e. which ones I shoot better and which ones are more accurate). I am sure the officer knew his limitations. I would hope you know your limitations if you are ever faced with a self-defense situation.

You just don't get it. There is nothing wrong with head shots. You have been told here that police actually are trained to shoot people in the head. Where do you think trained snipers would aim at a perp holding a gun?

The bottom line is that once you decide to use deadly force you must realize that whoever you are using it on may die. Your intent is to STOP THE OFFENDING ACTION AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. You shoot until the threat is over.

For whatever reason this officer decided to shoot at the head. You are second guessing him based on your perceptions about using deadly force. You may not be a good enough shot but there are others who are (I'd be willing to bet some on this board are as well) and he evidently was one of them.

While I admire your sister for her dedication to public safety, her department may train differently than other departments. Using her as your reasoning may not be the best thing to do as departmental training varies from city to city much less state to state.

You may think everyone on here who disagrees with you is stupid/wrong/bloodthirsty or something else. I look at this situation as the guy needed to be stopped. 1 head shot stopped him, end of story.

Did he have a right to a trial by a jury of his peers? Yes. Did he give up that right when he failed to obey a lawful command by a licensed peace officer? Yes again. Did the officer have the authority (and duty) to attempt to protect the baby? Yes. Can that authority be used to deny a right of a trial by jury? Yes again.

WOW!!! Absolute, complete pwnage, the likes of which we have not seen since shins were kicked and bemers were leased.

Very nice!!!1

So after a long day I have a few thoughts on this thread.

1. It is quite apparent that no matter what is posted, my views on the subject will not change, nor will the views of the other posters.

2. I hold no ill feelings toward any of you, even reb who posted this
quote:
He tricked some girl into saying that she will marry him. He is currently building and armoire for the dumb hoe.
which I believe was uncalled for.

3. The facts of what happened will remain to be seen, maybe. none of us were there and so no one can really say without a doubt what should or should not have happened

4. As I have stated before I can imagine a situation in which an officer was forced to shoot someone in the head and was justified. I can also imagine a similar yet very slightly different situation in which an officer shot a man in the forehead and was not justified.

5. My school records should really not play any part in this, but as I personally posted them they are fair game. I will say this. I do not have any regrets about my schooling. Had I not tajen the route I did, I would not have met the girl I will marry. That aside, yes I was puton probation. I made a lot of mistakes when I was younger. I suffered the consequences. I am no longer at a community college and I am taking classes this summer and fall. And, you know what, whn this is all said and done, my diploma will be just like everyone else's.

Hopefully everyone else does not harbor feelings of hate or resentment toward me, as that was not my intention. I merely wanted to point out an opposing view, and offer it up to discussion.

Yeah he is probabley guilty

nai,
What a stupid statement. The freakin guy WAS guilty!! He was seen KILLING the child. Courts may have not convicted him but it does not change the fact that he was doing it and that is why he was thankfully shot dead.

I get so sick of this liberal crap. The cop trampled his rights, we don't know if he was mentally unstable, blah blah blah garbage. You know, it's people like you who do not care or even worry about the rights of the innocent and children. This child's rights, his most basic right, his right to life, was being "trampled" on and all you can do is worry about his low-life?? How ridiculous are you?? People like you make me sick. You dont give a flip about the rights of anyone except the offender. He got what he deserved and the cop did what he could to try and preserve this child's life. He is authorized to do so. Deadly force is acceptable. They may not teach them to use head shots, but they do train them to use deadly force, no "injury force." Get a gripe on reality.
