Why are you all over Tenn Nuts? I just say it's strange anytime a kid like Santos lives just miles away and Picks Tenn over many many other schools. I can have my opinion, Hell, I hope we are doing whatever it takes to win just like they are.

I tend to notice when schools suddenly stack talent out of thin air. "See Florida St". Or when parents land jobs in other States. Or even when uncles get huge checks (Cam Newton) don't really care anymore but I just hope we keep up with the crowd.

I think you need to reevaluate what "stacking talent" means. Their recruiting class isn't anything special or out of the ordinary. If anything, so far it is underwhelming compared to years past.

Ok, since I seem to have got everyone all worked up. I will try to not accuse other teams of "Cheating" Instead I will kindly ask them to leave all the players in Texas we want alone. That gay enough for ya?

If Tennessee is cheating, they're doing a pretty poor job under Dooley.

I'm gonna vouch for AggielandPoultry on this. Call it guilt by association, but the Cam Newton thing was just egregiously wrong... and the NCAA - in it's infinite dumbness - found nothing wrong. GEEZ!!! In turn, that has given the tacit green light to SEC schools to just keep'on a treking with over-the-top recruiting methods.

The Tenn Vols signing 4* LB'ers who lives just about a Troy Aikman pass away from College Station and who at one point was seriously considering Texas A&M, and then suddenly favors the Vols... hmmm, interesting. Then, we find out his folks got jobs in Knoxville. Please tell me that this doesn't pass your ethical "sniff test!" (OU did the same thing with Adrian Peterson and then got blown-up - partially anyway - with the Big Red Auto thing, and they got a wrist slap from the NCAA. Bad juju, that was as they should have gotten a lot more in the way of penalties.)

Now, as to Otis Jacobs, dunno. His "defection" to the Vols at this juncture could be legit, but the questionmarks in their recruiting because of past events are already established.

Folks, if it walks like a duck... that's all I'm saying.

Tenn. is going to fire Dooley next year, so why do these kids commit there.

When it comes to recruiting, we are just going to have to play the game.

That's what I'm afraid of, viva. Not disputing you, just a sad reality.

Here's me brainstorming -- no accusations, no facts, just me typin out me random thoughts:

Oregon --- lots of high profile recruits

Oregon --- Nike sponsored

Oregon --- medical marijuana friendly state

Oregon --- state troopers let current football star athletes go with slap on wrist at 4 am in morning, driving 100 mph, no valid driver license, admitted marijuana smoked (but finished) in vehicle. The must be good player????

Oregon --- star Texas athlete (RB) had to transfer high schools while in TX for (?), quite the arrest record (yet still on the team -- he must be good???)

Dooley and his staff are all very good recruiters. Think what you want but, don't underestimate what they have to sell.

Just how badly could we have used Jacobs height, speed, athletic ability at corner..but, better yet how much impact was he going to have in the return game, both kick and punt??? Also, now that he went to Tenn. it makes it harder to pull his buddy Juco DL we were going after from Tenn. till this occurrance, I felt like we had a chance at him...

It's amusing how a TX player that A&M wants leaves the state for another school so that school is obviously cheating. Let's neglect the fact that Tennessee is one of the all-time winningest programs and Dooley plays a lot of true freshman.

Which is exactly what I was afraid of a few months back when I was posting re: Alabama and Trent Richardson.

Thing is, I don't think tu/Mack Brown will let us cheat. They have ears/eyes all over this state now!

Don't try and make Tenn look attractive. That program is in a world of hurt and they will have a new coach in 2013. No clue how they get players, all I know is they are in a much worse situation than us.

That being said or defense is going to be terrible next year because we can't get any JUCO help right now.

OK so, we have had a rough go of it lately, yeah we have been in a world of hurt for a while. I suppose once you fall into the abyss there is no way out? How do you have any more to build on than we do?

This was your year, next year was going to be a rebuilding year no matter what except now you will be entering the SEC west with a completely different coaching staff. Sorry, I don't see it. Seems like you have a lot more unknowns than we do. Nothing major just, who will your DC be? You know questions like that but you're entitled to your own opinion.

We were in a world of hurt when Sherm took over after Fran took a shite all over this program. Yet Sherman has brought in some good talent. Were we cheating too?

Football is cyclical guys. There are times where we will be up, and times where we are down. We have been down for the past decade unfortunately, and right now UT is down as well. But that doesn't mean they are all of a sudden unable to recruit good athletes anymore without having to cheat...

I didn't say Tenn was cheating, I said we're in a better position than they are based on talent on campus and the fact that our coach was fired now while their's will be fired next year. I really don't care about Tenn, I'm more concerned about the fact that we can't seem to get any of these Juco defenders, despite our glaring needs at CB and DL.

Hiring some coaches for defense would help I think. That is the main reason Jacobs changed his mind about A&M.

I think the real reason was several factors...I don't think it was good to fire Sherm...that probably hurt our chances with him...Unknown coaching situation is a possible factor....But, most important, I think he wants to play with Damien Jacobs, his current teammate, and I think he has been a vol lean for a while now...
