Often the choice has already been mostly made once the kid announces a date. If he actually visits us one more time in the next 2 weeks, then I'll hold out some hope.

SMU was still the leader last I heard.

Excellent. That means we might still have a chance. You get a kid on campus with good closers like Kennedy has on his staff, then you'll still got a shot to perhaps make something happen.

If he doesn't actually visit, then my assumption will be SMU.

SMU has Larry Brown, but again it is Larry Brown. There is no guarantee he will be there tomorrow much less next season.

Auburn will probably be looking for a new coach.

A&M will probably have a coach on the hot seat but barring an act of God will get at least a third season to show something.

What a cast of characters for a top recruit.

I would think we could at least play the game well enough to beat out those guys.

But the way basketball recruiting works, never ceases to amaze me. It should as it has been this way for a while but it hasn't failed to yet.

I will definitely give BK credit if he lands him.

And if he can keep it up, BK might scott drew himself a career at A&M after all.

Everything points to Ponies, though with possibly a cracked door still open for Ags if we can get him on campus for another visit.

Not an exaggeration to say the BK's future as our head coach rides on getting this done

There are a lot of rumors that Frazier's recruitment isn't on the up and up. I don't feel good about our chances with that kind of smoke whirling around.

I'm so jaded at this point regarding basketball recruiting. What a crappy business.

Ulric Maligi is one of SMU's lead recruiters, he was at UH with the infamous James Dickey the past few years, so your fears may not be unreasonable.

Of cource its not on the up and up if he picks SMU! Look I'm well aware of the greatness of Larry Brown. But even that shouldn't be enough.

Larry Brown is doing great things at SMU. Just wait until he gets to C-USA East, I mean the Big East, I mean the American 12.

SMU is a joke.

I seriously do not think Brown is there next year.

I think he just took the job to get his buddy (Jankovich) a big east HC job.

However, now SMU is basically still in the cusa just with a new name.

I think SMU sees the benefits of drewball and has decided to come up with their own version.

Seriously, it is the best way for these small schools with no history in MBB to establish themselves. An elite player or two can mean the difference between a final four run and staying home.

It is easier and quicker than trying to become a football power. MBB is the only other college sport with a true national profile.

Why not bank on utilizing your resources to cash in on the elite prospects now.

SMU doesnt need to learn the Baylor way...SMU was "saved" from basketball glory and eventual crash and burn by Larry Johnson's academics and admin reevaluating of athletics in the wake of the football problem, which caused Dave Bliss to leave.

Without question, if Frazier chooses A&M, he would see as much playing time in his first year as he would at SMU, Tech, or Auburn. A&M has the best basketball facilities out of that group as well.

Auburns were built in 2010 and very nice...

Yep. All indications are no good drop man at A&M and SMU it most likely is.

I mean good school and all. Is he intending to go to law school? Is he a Methodist from the South?
Strange cast of schools for a top recruit. Early PT is likely a reason. He wants to run the show and no guarantees of that at a top school.

Curious if anyone read about a particular interest with him that separates SMU from the other 3 schools.

Straying away from the OP, I'd like to see us land a monster in the middle like Tennessee has. There's not a single position where we're strong, but I think we're weakest in the 5 spot
