My wife and I are heading to Cabo San Lucas next week (first time for us). Just wanted to see if anyone had any tips or recommendations for restaurants, bars, activities, etc. Thanks in advance.
Another restaurant rec: La Golondrina. It's been about 4 years since I went (at that time it was called The Trailer Park), but it had a neat atmosphere and awesome margs. I think the name change was due to confusion with actual trailer parks.
We ate at Misiones De Kino (they cooked our fish we caught there), Pancho's Restaurant & Tequila Bar, Mi Casa, Mamma's (breakfast) and Mariscos Mazatlan.
We have been going to Cabo every year for the last few years. We just got back on Wed! The first thing is to print a restaurant list/review at trapperscabolist.com & USE IT! As for some some of the ones mentioned: We love to eat breakfast at the Office, never tried their dinner. I think the Office has better food than Mama's. La Golondrina is still there. We have never been & it might be a little pricey. Ediths-haven't been there in years. I heard the food is not very good & the Cabo regulars don't go there. For mexican food we LOVE Los Tres Gallos. If you like mole theirs is great or try enchiladas verde. For seafood-try El Pescador. The fresh fish & coconut shrimp are both very good. For some really great Italian- go to Salvatore's. Huge portions. Split a salad & an entree. They have a wonderful courtyard dining area. These places are more where the locals eat which is what we like to do as opposed to the touristy places. Find the Monkey Business Bar at night for a great margarita or have Victor make you a "Monkey". Tell Victor that Mackenzie & Matthew said "hola" & their mom sent you there. Victor is off on Sun. Have Fun!!!! The Ecocat is the largest catamaran. It holds 100 people. It is the slow time of year in Cabo so last week there were 20 of us on the sunset cruise. Tons of space to move around on the boat & take incredible pictures out by the arch. Just get the ticket for the cruise/bar & skip the dinner. Eat somewhere when you get back. Tell your wife not to wear a dress. Fishing has not been good this summer so I would skip that.

PG is on the edge of town. I am not familiar w/the layout of that property (there might be "hills" to navigate over there) since I have never stayed there. You will get the feel of everything pretty quickly. I would not walk to La Golondrina or LT Gallos & El Pescador would be questionable. As a landmark I might not walk to anything north of the Puerto Paraiso Mall. It is safe but some things could be 20-30 min walk. If you get a cab negotiate the rate before you get in the cab & the tip is included in the rate. Are you renting a car?
Agree with everyone else, The Office at sunset for dinner. Not sure if you or the wife are into fishing at all, but there is amazing deep sea fishing there (marlin, mahi mahi, tuna) plus you get to see tons of other wildlife. Water taxi to Lover's Beach where the rock arches are is also nice.
Texas Ag Mom, thanks for the recommendations, especially the one for Monkey Business. Watching Victor make a drink was an experience. We ended up going to Monkey Business a few times. Victor says "hello" and he definitely knew you guys.
My favorite restaurant was Hacienda Cocina y Cantina. The food and views were amazing. I think my wife enjoyed Los Tres Gallos the most. We epically enjoyed the house next door with the Chihuahuas barking from the rooftop. Definitely authentic.
Great trip overall, we will definitely be going back again.

Does anyone have any recommendations for fishing charters? I'll be there for my honeymoon in July and am hoping to do one day in a panga, and another day in a bigger boat fishing for marlin.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions for getting from the airport into town? We will be staying near the marina. Thanks.
Many people have suggested Redrum. Have not heard anything bad about them.
We used Renegade Mike. Easy to work with and we had a blast. We chose him over others because we just wanted the two of us on the boat and no others fishing.
Cabs from the airport to town are pricey. There are lots of private shuttle services that you can book in advance. We always rent a car. Just booked our flight for June, can't wait! One thing to be aware of- If you book a shuttle from the airport to your hotel you might be forced to book it for RT. Lots of hotels don't allow shuttles to come to the hotels so be careful. Some ridiculous rule they have! Taking a taxi from town back to the airport will be slightly less than airport to hotel because you avoid some airport surcharge. They work very hard to get YOUR money! Also remember before you get in the cab to go anywhere find out what the rate is FIRST & do not tip. The tip is included. You might want to start reading the forum boards at tripadvisor.com. You will learn a lot of helpful info there. We have been many times but we still read & learn new things. You will also learn about trappers list. A great guide to bars & restaurants. I highly rec an Italian place in town-Salvatores-I think. INCREDIBLE food! Very large portions served in a nice little courtyard & most likely in walking distance from where you are staying. Very small so you might want to make reservations even tho July is their slow season.
Going in March and staying at the Westin Los Cabos. Looks like it might be a good idea to rent a car. Original plan was to race an Ironman there, but injury is preventing that. Now looking for hiking and outdoor fun.
Westin is a good ways from town. They probably run some sort of shuttle but it might be limited as far as when they go/return. Cabs will not be cheap so if you are planning on leaving your hotel a lot a car might be your best bet. Be very careful about who you rent from. Check out the forum on trip advisor to see who they are currently rec. It was Cactus & one other & you can get specific contact info & if you email that person directly you will get the best rate/less hassle. It is very easy to get caught up in a timeshare deal/overcharge/insane insurance rates so be careful. We always rent from Dominick but he is a little higer priced than the others.
