Excellence Punta Cana

I highly recommend Excellence Punta Cana. Best bang for your buck in DR.

I have been looking at Excellence. Was wondering because some said that the sand is not as white there. Also looking into Secrets.

Casa de Campo was great. We went there 2-3 times back 10 or so years ago. Dont know if it still exists. I think it might of been washed out by a hurricane. if not, its a great all inclusive resort with individual villas that come equiped with golf carts etc.

Flights are not that great. I booked through US airways. Going in August and looking for a place to stay for a honeymoon.

Been to the Occidental Grand Punta Cana 5 years ago. I liked it, for the price. I was a student at the time and got a good deal but at least the food was ok and the beach is great.

My wife and I went to Moon Palace Punta Cana at the end of July 2009 for our honeymoon. I highly recommend it....beautiful beaches and friendly people.

We stayed at the Majestic Colonial in May 2008. We got it so dirt cheap, I got the highest room grade (under the Honeymoon suite), which was something like the one bedroom colonial (there are only eight of the rooms on the resort). Five nights with flights and everything was 2500 total. Sand was very white, so check a map of punta cana and I am sure nearby resorts also have nice sand/water.

I know while I was looking at reviews for Excellence, if you take out all the New Yorker's reviews the place has no faults.

Bringing up an old thread. Going to the Excellence for my honeymoon soon and was wondering if any of you had some recommendations for transportation services to / from the airport (PUJ) to the hotel?

Punta Cana...

I am honeymooning there in April... Excellence Punta Cana.

I booked it knowing nothing about it. I upgraded to a concierge for 5 nights cause I caught a good deal. For an all-inclusive, this hotel seems like a good deal.

Yahoo actually ranked it as one of the top 10 all-inclusives at beach destinations (not sure that matters to anyone, but I was happy)

btw: the Moon Palace is now the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and I'll be there a week from tomorrow! Looking forward to it! will try to remember to give a short review in this thread when I get back.

Not to sidetrack......but we have Excellence Playa Mujeres booked for our May honeymoon. Have heard great thing about the Excellence properties.

About $3300.

That includes 5 nights at the hotel, transportation from the airport to hotel and back, and airfare. It does not include any excursions. I think with the Excellence they include a 30 minute horseback ride.

Flights alone we're looking at $1250, leaving our wedding in Tampa and returning to Houston.

No I used Expedia. Right now, I think if you book through Excellence's website, there might be a discount on the rooms. I caught it while there was a discount.

My flights I actually think might have been more expensive than that, around $1500.

I caught the hotel at the right time for a deal.

Excellence Punta Cana - Larger more traditional all-inclusive resort. Very, very high reviews, but a little dated.

Paradisus (one of several resorts). All look very nice, but the Kid Zone scares me.
