Any recs for San Fran hotels? Planning a trip in August. Looking for a decent one, near activities, the bay possibly and reasonably priced. TIA.

Executive Hotel Vintage Court - I stayed here back in May. Its nothing too special, but the rooms were less than 100 bucks. They had a free wine happy hour each day. It was near Union Square and was within walking distance to most activities. I booked it on hotels.com.....

Cow Hollow Inn & Suites -- in the Marina district. Reasonably priced, and suites are 2 BR/1 ba with kitchen and living room for under $300/night. Rooms are cheaper than that if they're just hotel rooms.

Stay in or near North Beach. I stayed at the Hilton Financial District last week which is 1 block from the beginning of the North Beach area. Weather was spectacular. Drove down CA 1 to Monterey peninsula and spent some time in Carmel as well.

I'm seeing a good deal for this hotel on Expedia. How much was parking?

Would staying near the airport be too far from everywhere?

yes, airport is out of town, and is not near anything you'd want to be near.

Stayed at the hotel executive vintage court a few weeks ago. Prob the best customer service i have ever received anywhere. Everyone from the managers to the desk to the door man were awesome. At the end i tipped the doorman 20 bucks for all the help he had given me during my week there

Parking was 35 bucks a day although you dont need a car in the city

Dont stay by the airport. Its too far from where you want to be. Stay at the executive vintage and you can walk anywhere.

The Omni is fantastic. It is in the financial district but walking distance to Chinatown which is just around the corner and a pleasant walk to the Embarcadero area of the waterfront.
