Going on Princess Coral at the end of May from Anchorage (Whittier) to Vancouver.

Would love any tips, feedback, etc. if someone has been before.

Did a bush plane ride in Ketchican(sic) over the glacier and then landed in a mountain lake, pricey but great experience.

Also did the Alaskan Yukon train ride, which was nice as well.

You can save money by booking your own shore excursions, which you will want to do. I would research them ahead of time.

I did the same cruise with princess chris. i took a helicopter ride onto a glacier and went dog sledding. it was pricy but it was amazing. i highly recommend that. also, seeing the calving of the glaciers at glacier national park was the highlight of the trip for me.

will never go on a cruise again. Too many variables with the weather..

Did an Alaskan cruise last year (out of Seattle). In Ketichican (sp) we did the horseback trip and jeep tour (over the pass into the Yukon). Both trips were fun. Saw a couple bears on the horse trip. We also did a fly in bear spotting tour. It was expensive, and we didn't actually see any bears, but it was a great experience. The company owner was actually upset we didn't see any bears (one of 4 tours all summer that didn't). I explained to him I would be more upset if he could promise a 100% chance of seeing them.

The Misty Fjord boat into the area and flight back out to Ketchican is about as spectacular as it gets. Glacier landing via helicopter is excellent.

Sounds like you are going into Glacier Bay. Park yourself on one of the little decks forward and stay there bundled up. You only get to see half from your balcony.

Can't remember which port the Train ride was in.

My brother has liked trains since he was little so we have done every train in the US or it seems like it.

I would be careful planning my own excursions. If for some reason you are late the ship will leave with out you and you are responsible for getting to your next port to catch up. If you take one that is offered to princess and something happens they will wait for the tour group.

I did this cruise about 10yrs ago and I am planning on taking my family on it next summer when my son is old enough for the child activities.

Weather will be a variable no matter where you go cruise or not. No one will guarantee you good weather.
