Taking the wife the NY to see Grease for her birthday in December. Anyone have a recommendation for a pre or post show nice meal.

Frank Restaurant - best meal I have ever had
Hope the strike is over by then.
We went to Tavern On The Green (in Central Park). A bit pricey, but we tohught is was worth it, especially since you are going at Christmas time. Everything is so decorated. She will probably love it...

we've done tavern on the green before. The food was good and I didn't think it was anymore pricey than any other nice steakhouse I have been in.

you are monitoring the stage hand strike right? I'd hate for there to be a bad surprise.

I would recommend Paradou, a French restaurant located in the meat packing district. It is a great meal for the price with an extra that is my favorite. Paradou offers award-winning chocolates made by Joel Durand in St. Remy France. I ordered some for my dad as a Christmas present. They are delicious.

regarding the strike..does anybody know how they are handling those that already have tickets...refunds?
from what i heard, they are giving refunds if you take your ticket to ticket office there. not sure if that is true, a friend of mine told me that. i'm hoping they end the strike soon

It just got shut down last week I believe for health code violations. I don't know if it is open again or if you would want to go there knowing that.

if you bought ur ticket thru telecharge, they have already refunded ur ticket otherwise bring it to the ticket office and they'll refund ur ticket
Mangia e Bevi - my wife has to eat there every time she goes to NY - I've never eaten there, but she loves it. I think its kind of a loud party, everybody singing and dancing around kind of joint - more than an authentic awesome Italian food kind of joint - think of Joe's Crab Shack with spaghetti and lasagna. . .
