the thing that gets me about Fran (other than his play-calling) is he never seems to show any kind of emotion. From the look on his face when we were being beaten 77 to nothing, you would think we were doing great.
I feel like if he really wants to win, he'll become less conservative in his offensive approach. The way our offense works, you can't come back from a huge deficit. To do that, you must pass. So I suggest that when we are down by a lot we put JJ in there and go to work. He's scored on 6 of the 7 times he has been QB. Sure, this is downplayed because of how late in the game these things occured, when he was fresh and everyone else was exhausted. But still, I think JJ can do it a lot better than McGee.
Also, there is a reason why no one else uses a 4-2-5. It isn't that successful. So let's throw it away and bring back aggressive 4-3 defense.
Thirdly, when we've proven we aren't doing something successfully (like run the ball against Miami, as evidenced by our FIRST drive), we should change the gameplan. Our first drive, on third down, we should have play-action passed it.
I really have to wonder...if Fran isn't the cause of this loss, and how mediocre we've been in the last several seasons, who is? You can't tell me we don't have one of the best, if not the best running back duos in the nation.
And when we are down by 21, and it is like 4th and goal, why do we not go for it, instead of kicking a field goal???
