With respect to your success in the responsibilities of coaching football at Texas A&M University, we have amended your contract to the following bonus structure on top of your regular compensation package, effective immediately:

500k bonus for winning SEC West.

1.0M bonus for winning SEC Championship

1.5M bonus for BCS game (2014) or "Final 4" Playoff appearance post 2014.

500k for Top 10 Recruiting Class

200k for Recruiting Class ranking higher than Texas.

***2.5 Million Dollar Bonus for winning National Championship***

We've also paid off your house (nice house by the way, like the mix of stucco and stone).

If this bonus structure is agreeable to you, you will not answer any phone calls from California to show acceptance.

But he's done a great job. And a bonus structure sweetens the pot nicely without adding contract years.

who cares? who really freaking cares? If the dude wants to ditch us, then he's gonna ditch us. For his sake I hope he doesn't end up like BCG...because ditching us worked out well for him.

The thing I hate most about this whole issue is that the media, tsips and others love to speculate about this because it shows (at least in their minds) that we were a flash in the pan and will never sustain success.

We are already a Top 20 all-time program. But it's easy to see that our trajectory looking ahead is steep. We have plenty money. The SEC move was HUGE. Heck we're building the biggest stadium in the SEC. We can own Houston recruiting and go head-to-head in Dallas with anyone.

Strip away the amazing/lucky combination of JFF and Sumlin and you STILL have a compelling case for A&M being a destination program for a coach who wants to win above all else.

And I know it's been pointed out many times, but again remember that A&M was a comparably small school for much of our history. We are only now hitting our stride with large numbers of wealthy alumni finally cashing in...er out.

Great X-and-O guys who can connect with college kids are once-in-a-lifetime finds - we'd better not blow this.

BTW, defense has almost nothing to do with coaching. As we continue to get better and get hype, we'll attract the players needed to play better defense. The path we are on will give us the X's-and-O's for a championship offense (even without JFF) and the bodies for a championship defense.

Nope.. time to pay him. He won't be cheap and if you want him to stop looking at the big time programs, we better start paying like one. Perception is on his side, let's pay the man and his staff like a top 5 program.

I give credit to the man at the top, "Bowtie" for changing the way Aggies up top think.

Also, Snyder doing a phenominal job with junk he inherited. Snyder was crystal clear last year say," we are 3 to 4 years away from being solid on defense. We've got a lot of youth and inexperience"

Now why did everybody ignore that statement???

Big time programs write big time checks.

The evidence couldn't be clearer than it is this year: we had a good defense last year and a terrible defense this year. The coaching is the same; it's not like Snyder forgot how to coach defense over-night.

But, interestingly, we lost Damontre Moore, Spencer Nealy, Sean Porter, Jonathan Stewart, Steven Terrell, and Dustin Harris. You think that might be the difference?

If the decline of effectiveness for RC Slocum or Torbush weren't examples enough, this year's defense verses last year's defense is proof positive that defense is 99.9% about the players and 1% about the coaching.

Actually, the defense wasnt that good last year. Lots of yards running and passing against us. What makes it look good is the fact that the defense was opportunistic and made critical stops when it had to. That part was great since they rose to the occassion.

I didn't say they were a great defense, I said they were a good defense - and there is no denying that. And that's all you need to win championships with our offense.
