Tennessee. Ouch. Darion Monroe is still listed as "Soft Verbal." Plus, today on the radio Sumlin said that we "might lose 1 or 2 guys," and to me that meant that we WOULD lose AT LEAST 2. And boy, do we need those corners. Again, ouch.

Monroe is solid as can be. Him saying we might lose 1-2 doesn't necessarily imply we'll lose 2. While I think we probably will, I don't see that as being a sure thing like you imply.

We need as DC and we need one now.

This also puts insane pressure on us to keep Colin Blake.

There is has never been a class completely stay together during a coaching change. Relax. We'll be ok.

Serious question jagvocate - to what part to you refer when you say "positive." The thought that the DB class was looking good or that we will be able to draw a top notch DC in time to salvage the defensive recruiting class? The balance was an obvious late night sarcastic rant.

Jacobs left us for UT and dude will have a new coach after next season. It's sad he can't see it. His loss. Take a chill pill ppl, Sumlin will add a few guys with more upside and years to play. 3-star HS CB > 3-star juco, and yes Sumlin will replace him with one

My God, "the sky must be falling"! Chill the freak out! There is still almost 2 months until signing day! Good grief!

Do you dooms day drama queens really think we'll just fold up our tent and say, " oh well, poor me"? Come on guys, we adjust our targets! Just like a few of our guys are taking visits, others will visit us that are unexpected. When they see our roster and the opportunity to play very very early, we'll add new guys.

We may loose a couple! So what! I want kids that want to go to ATM! Committing to coaches is a horrible move and we all know it! Average life of coaches is about 5 -7 years so most all players will have to deal with loosing a coach.

You idiots need to realize that nobody outside of Texas A&M really cares about Texas A&M. When the UNC or Ole Miss job came open, did you rush to their board? Been frequenting any UH, Pitt, or ASU boards? Do you know every in and out of their coaching change? What's going on in their land? Oh, you don't know? Worry about the d-line if you get some studs up front that provide a ton of pressure then your cornerbacks look alot better. Pressure the QB and he will make mistakes. Football is won on the lines.

Tenn Sucks worse than we do and they seemed to be pulling some kids that we wanted with the Sherm camp. Not saying they are cheating, they just seem to be landing some top talent lately.

so if we can ever land some top talent, i.e. more than just michael and twilliams, we should be accused to then, according to your logic.

i'm just not buying. tennessee is not a crap program, even though recent history doesn't bode well. its better than ours, including a win in 04(?)

I see your point, but think about it: This year we had 2 starting corners who were 2-stars: T-Fred, Lionel Smith. I love those guys, and they gave it up for the team; I'm proud they're Aggies. We were also one of the worst teams in the nation in pass coverage, while 2nd in sacks, and good against the run. When you stop the run, and have a good offense, you take a 2-score lead. You force the other team to become one-dimensional. When they're in passing situations - to catch back up - our sacks went up! But we couldn't cover. We need 3-stars and 4-stars, and we need true freshman and Jucos, both.

True, and good point. However, again, we stopped the run well this year and were 2nd in the nation in sacks, and STILL sucked against the pass. It takes improvement in ALL areas to have a great team that wins a lot of games.

We lose a couple of guys (like always happens when coaching staffs change) and some posters here act like the world is ending and the Aggie football program will be shut down....

The guys we have lost are no big deal. Sherm's class filler. Sumlin will get better.

BQggie-- Sherman had to go!! Good grief, if what you saw from this team this past season is OK with you then your football standards are not very high! If we lose some guys fine. But it was more important to raise up the sinking ship than keep a couple of recruits. Our team blew leads played with no passion, blew coverages, tackled poorly and frankly acted like they didn't care. Shermans refusal to run the ball with leads and his shotty play calling in the second half of games was a pattern in the 5 blown leads. Sumlun will replace those guys that left, maybe with better players. But if not it is better to lose a couple of guys than stay with something that obviously wasn't going to work!!

We would probably lose a couple of guys, coaching change or not. Schools don't say "well, joe rb committed to school X,so we will stop recruiting him." They stay after these kids and use whatever angle they think will work to flip them. We lost recruits while Sherman was here...Corey Nelson..remember him? We will have recruits flip with Sumlin, too. It's just the nature of the beast.

Some people pump sunshine no matter what happens.

This is crap. Blake has been flaky from the start and how do you know this isn't an excuse for Jacobs? For all we know both of these guys could jump ship with sherman still as our head coach. Shermans 6-6 season is getting what it asked for.

obviously don't like to see the Ags lose recruits, but I wouldn't get too upset about losing a juco CB who would have only been on campus for 2 years. And typically half of the first year is spent just getting up to speed with Div I football

W, in fairness, this was one of, if not possibly, the biggest defensive recruit in the class. CB, not DL, is the position in which we are going to be hurting the most next year. Jacobs was a mid term guy so he should have been ready to go by the fall. Most had him penciled in as a starter. I'm not a cliff jumper, but it is a big loss.

Unlike the big 12-1+1-2+1, most teams in the sec are more run oriented. We need DL to compete. Jacobs would have been ok but it's not that big of a loss.
