Blake is the SMU OL who helped Trent Hunter and got hurt himself later in the game. I talked to his old roommate earlier today, and he said that Blake is doing okay; he sprained his ankle and will likely miss the UTEP game on Saturday but should be okay after this week.

Apparently, Blake was REALLY looking forward to playing on Kyle Field. His old roommate told me that he was bummed because of the score/outcome and that he got hurt because he was so excited about the game. His roommate said that Blake is a class guy, so when I told him about his act of sportsmanship, he wasn't surprised. I told his roommate to relay the message that Aggie fans appreciate his act of good sportsmanship and wish him the best for the remainder of the season.

Brown was tweeting yesterday about how mad he was (still) at the "SMU Center" ...

Brown pushed that center all the way back into his QBs lap ala Nebraska last year. Love it when he just bull rushes guys...

Very glad to hear he will be back this season. It was obvious on the sideline how much he wanted to get back into the game and help his team. Much respect and best wishes to Blake.

RP, on a play went Trent's helmet came off Blake essentially shielded Trent's face to ensure nothing happened to him.

Blake is a friend of my son from summer camp. He is a very fine Christian young man. Glad to hear he will be ok.

Cool. Any relation to the McJunkin o-lineman that played at Texas back in the day and was like an All-SWC player? We were discussing this in the press box during the game.

He's a class guy, so there's probably no relation.

One post said his father played for tu and his uncle played for A&M.

Yes, Gabe his dad is Kirk, who played for Texas, and his uncle, Brad McJunkin played for the Ags in the 70s.

Too often we see displays of poor sportsmanship and everyone talks about them. I am glad to see that a good sportsmanship event is getting some mention as well.

When I saw that play live, I mentioned it to my wife, but i was not sure who it was from SMU. Glad to know who it was now and hope the young man has a speedy ankle recovery and a great final season at SMU.

Anything a future employer needs to know about this young man's character was addressed in that one play.

I really buy into the John Wooden quote that "Sports do not build character. They Reveal it."

I remember Trent's helmet coming off. Does anyone have a pic or could create a gif? Would be a good example to show some younger kids about sportsmanship, and safety regardless of opponent.
