Read their thread. They mocked our campus, our mascot, the entire corps, yell leaders, fish camp, staying off the grass, not allowing anyone to rush the field and I think a few others. We got props for the saw off during the war hymn and being loud at games. No mention of Silver Taps or Muster, but I wouldn't expect much from a non aggie on our traditions.


They also seem as obsessed about the Akita thread as we are. They thought it was pathetic people actually went over to see if the story was real.

Seriously, who cares? We are going to rail them by like 30 points. Then the next week someone is going to find an Idaho message board, saying how the think they can beat us.

Not sure what you have been reading. I'm on PonyFans.com every day — it's the only source of SMU sports information with any legitimate information or competent writing — and the vast majority of PonyFans (yes, it's an accepted term, thanks to the name recognition of the site) do respect A&M's traditions.

Sure, there are some a handful who will badmouth your traditions, and those of every other school on the schedule, but you find that at every school ... and there some for whom optimism is at an all-time high, which is not entirely without merit: it's the beginning of the season, so everyone is 0-0, and to be honest, this SMU team has a chance to be pretty good. I'd bet, however, that if you survey all SMU fans, the hope is for an upset, but the expectation is for a close game that might not go in our favor.

Most of us are glad to have A&M back on the schedule. Win or lose in the opener, good luck the rest of the way.

By the way, a lot of PonyFans are fans of your offensive coordinator. Tom Rossley is a first-class man who got screwed when SMU let him go. He is one reason I often pull for A&M (except when you play us, of course!)

Most SMU fans pull for Texas A&M because of the link to Coach Tom Rossley and because
you are the best hope to compete & beat the stinking Longhorns. SMU fans are treated much better at Kyle Field in contrast to the way the drunk rednecks at Texas Tech treat opposing fans. Like Ark, I hope you guys leave for the SEC and tell the Longhorns to stick it. Most SMU fans are Texas A&M fans the day after Thanksgiving every year. Hope you pound them at home this year.
