I hope the reports are true and you boys are coming on board the SEC boat.

That said, all us SEC folks are arguing back and forth about who else to invite to keep an even number of teams.

I know all of our preferences, but if you Aggies had to pick, who would you most want to join the SEC with you?

(Again, I hope its true and I'm totally excited. You're a great school with a fantastic tradition. I can't wait to go to an Aggie-LSU game at Kyle field since my hate for LSU knows no bounds.)

I like VT. They are competent in all sports. They give a chunk of their own market in Virginia, which FSU won't add since Fla is already covered.
And most importantly, they are near the biggest Aggie alumni group out of the state of Texas in DC. I will go to all the VT-A&M games for sure. And was there during the hurricane last time we played in Va. I got him to my house having no electricity for a week. That sucked, plus we blew the game late in the mud.

Word is most of the ACC teams are off the table as the East teams have banded together against them.

UF doen't want FSU, UGA and USCe don't want Clemson, etc.

I think I'd like to see Va Tech...but OU might be better for several reasons:

1. higher prestige than VT
2. geographic advantage for Ags (having another conf member close by rather than far away)
3. OU leaving B12 would further isolate the insufferable whorns

That's because we played a home/away with them a few years back. It was like looking in a mirror, we are alot alike. It would be great to be the cross division rivals with them.

Rice actually isn't a bad idea. It would keep the East-West balance. Is Rice competitive at any non-football sports?

A&M and VT have always gotten along pretty well. Both fanbases really enjoyed our H-and-H in '02-'03, and reconnected big time after the shooting. Both are land-grant schools with a strong military culture, so that adds to it as well.

V Tech would be my #1, but the Miz or Fla State or Clemson or UNC would all be fine.

Virginia Tech is my first choice.

Personally, VT is my favorite followed by Clemson.

I don't know how likely it is that the SEC will add another West team. Because if they do, then you'd probably have to move Auburn to the East, which would make bama have to choose between playing Tennessee or Auburn every year.

Hokies would be the number one choice for most of us, I think - they fit geographically and demographically with both the SEC and A&M.

Virginia Tech or Ga Tech sounds good.

Rice would be a good add as well.

If A&M is a west add, and 14 is the number, then it will be who the east wants, as they will actually have to play them every year.

Hence, VT gets mentioned so often, as they have a history and distance with the SEC east teams, that a team like OU does not. Would UK or TU like drive to Norman, or would they rather drive to Blacksburg?

The B1G has football powers, and scads of eyeballs

Look for the SEC to look for schools that offer eyeballs over brands. VA and NC have many new eyeballs

Florida State for sure for me. But in the interest of an east/west balance, TCU?

SMU, Rice, and NC State are all realistic default options. Rice especially for academic balance and that massive stadium that they have lying around. Going out on a limb and trying for a better program like TCU, VT, FSU, or Clemson would be good, but much harder to orchestrate.
