Oh yea we want the conference to live, we want it to be equal for all members. What a load of bs. All of them knew, and if no one complained it would have gone unnoticed.

However, this is what we need ags. Texas is not going to get their way and they are stubborn. Who knows, they might just go independent. There is no way those games do not air. cowtv needs them to try to force the channel on cable systems.

No HS games and no conference games, means expanded sports tier at the absolute best.

Just shows the new dynamic here in the Big12-2...A&M, OU and tu all have a check on each other. Any two united against the other is enough to overrule.

Somehow I doubt tu is just going to give in though. espn for sure will not give in.

Especially, because tu-espn becomes a much harder sell with tu vs. rice and a bunch of minor cow sports.

Beebe is in quite a pickle. If he allows the sips to do this, under the guise of NCAA approval, that is the death sentence for the conference. If he does not, then he is opening himself up to some big time litigation from LHN ESPN and the problems there.

The sip network will be the undoing of the conference.

I am old school, but I do really miss the SWC with the Hogs. Special times growing up in Dallas.

Not the same, and staying in BIg XII or going to SEC either way, it is not the same. In retrospect, I wish the Hogs had of stayed, and we could have courted OU and OSU.

Exactly! Too little, too late! If anything, it underscores just how bad tu has Beebe by the nutz. Puppet has been silent this whole time and just now decided to step in? Hell NO! Deloss probably made 1 call, told Beebe exactly what to say in the press release, and went back to torturing small animals.

tu's options are likely more limited than they think.
I think they will have to go indy (and affiliate with cusa or the mwc) or stay in a weakened b12 (without A&M and/or ou) if they try force those games onto the cow network.


The other big conferences are not going to want to deal with that network now that tu has said they will target not just Texas HS games with their recruits but out of state HS games for broadcast.

They have already stated they want to target an AZ Chapparal game (where connor brewer plays). Do you think UA or ASU are going to vote to invite tu know they plan to do that?

LHN is screwed without the addition of a conference game. Too much money and power wrapped up in LHN for ESPN to sit by and allow Beebe to make the calls.

Who cares. The SEC is our clearly best option. We both want eachother. It's a match made in heaven!

ESPN should quietly approach Dodds and say that either they get to put whatever programing on they want, or the contract needs to get readjusted down.

ESPN will pimp sip recruiting via HS Football and game of the week like no other.

They are not pouring money in this to televise ladies tennis versus Tulsa or show reruns of the John Mackovic show.

This is geared for a brand that will grow bigger and more unmanageable at the expense of the other schools in the conference.

I have too much respect for not only the Ags, but oddly enough the Sooners to allow this to happen.

I firmly believe that the sip network was a great idea from a sip perspective, but the group that proposed it had very little forethought if they thought the collateral damage would not include the reaction of the conference.

Think of the marketing advantage the Braves had and cubs had when we first got cable and TBS and WGN were on cable. Imagine trying to name anyone from the Orioles if you lived here.

A conference has to financially and competitively row in the same direction. What happens for facilities, coaches, tradition is all up in the air. But there has to be some semblance of solidarity. I am afraid this will be the end of the conference, and sadly I am unsure how this will effect our rivalry game with the sips.
