Waiting one more day for football

I like it since we have a bye the following weekend. That much less time between games.

Thats going to be a terrible saturday for ball. There is 1 feature match-ups a couple w/ potential, and a whole bunch of tune-up games.

The problem though is tu(rice) and ou(tulsa) are going to get the conference spots. My guess is that ESPN had to guarantee Oregon/LSU that it be the only game on ABC at 7 to get the deal. If thats so, then the conference should only get 2 games, unless I dont understand the new deal.

So if they offer us a national game, we should take it. The real money spot is Monday night, but U and Md are already playing.

I say we hold out and tell ESPN to put the U on at 5 et and put our game on at 9et. Of course ESPN would probably tell us to pound sand.

1967 was the last time we played SMU to open the season on National TV. That game was moved up also. Ugly game for the AGS....season turned out OK!!!
